Stop me if you've heard this before: Qatar and Russia bribed for votes

Also, Fox was part of the bribing to get TV rights.
I feel like this has all been touched on before, but it's always a good thing when this is back in the media rotation.

It’s behind a paywall for me, at least on mobile. Can you paste it or give a TLDR?

Fox bribes to win WC rights and then goes cheap on its broadcast

ESPN’s 2014 coverage > Fox’s 2018 coverage

I'll be honest, I barely watched much of Fox's pre and post match coverage because I didn't care as much with the US not in it.
From what I did see, they seemed to try a lot of the same things ESPN did in 2014 and 2010, but their personalities/hosts just weren't on par with what ESPN had.
If they would hire the right people, I think it wouldn't be much difference.

Wait.
Bribing, Fox, and Russians?
I know how this ends. It all is true but gets swept under the rug. Life goes on as it always has - terribly.

It’s good to see the US is trying to get more Hispanic involvement

The segment with the eccentric latino guy and the Russian DJ made me want to stop watching soccer for a bit.

Fernando Fiore was just awful.

He should be sacked. And those responsible for hiring him should also be sacked.
Then those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked, should also be sacked.

ESPN productions in 2010 and 2014 were outstanding. I’m still triggered they lost the rights.

I've read some reports over the years where insiders have said that ESPN was simply floored when they didn't win the WC rights. I remember how that 2010 ESPN insider book described the day they lost the WC rights as the saddest day in ESPN history. Would love to get Bob Ley's opinion on this. I'm sure at the time they were too professional to claim bribery, but solid proof seems to have come out.
