Some of it is geographic, there are teams like Leeds United, Newcastle United, Liverpool, Wolverhampton, Southampton, the Manchester clubs etc

There are so many clubs at so many levels in London so that’s where you see a lot of different club names. Some of them are named after the burroughs or neighborhoods they’re in

I’m a noob and have a question. Is soccer the worst sport ever created, or is cricket worse? TIA

I’ve watched more soccer so far this year than all other sports combined. Once you figure it out, it’s a fantastic watch.

Noob question even after watching/following for a couple of years now; Do EPL teams develop any of their players or is everyone bought? What is the progression path look like for a player that is really good at soccer?

Every team has an academy sometimes kids come in at 9 or 10 years old. And if they have what it takes they can work their way up through the systems age ranks under 9-12, under 12-16, then under 17s thru under 23s and then into the main squad at any age as young as 16-17.

Of the kids that enter the Academy, what percentage (roughly) make it to the EPL team?

Another question; again I’ve only been paying attention for maybe a couple of years now but why the lack of love for LaLiga? They have just as many teams as EPL but I didn’t find a single thread on the front page for Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Most of the posters on this board support an EPL club.. The amount of supporters of those two clubs, on this board, are very small and I assume they'd be chatting to themselves...

We used to have a little more RM representation... but Mrs. Miller and Dandy Lion no longer post anymore (that Ive seen)..

In addition to La Liga, there seems to be no Bundesliga supporters on here. You never see any threads.

Is there any definitive literature on how each player is supposed to play their positions within the various formations? My youngest is going to be playing centerback in a competitive league soon and I would like to know what he should be doing on the pitch.
