Brek Shea's loan deal with Barnsley has been terminated early and he has been returned to his parent club, Stoke City, Barnsley said in a club statement Monday.
quote:
The recall is a result of a recent breach of club discipline at Barnsley, a source close to the club told ESPNFC.

Shea, 24, joined Barnsley on loan from Stoke City in January and made his debut for the Tykes against Birmingham City on New Year's Day. Making eight appearances while at the club, the U.S. international caused controversy earlier this month when he was seen to make an offensive gesture towards the club’s fans after Barnsley’s 5-0 defeat to Huddersfield Town.

Dumbass, maybe, but he was basically kicked off the team for giving a heckler the middle finger. I liked this comment:

Kicking a guy off the team for giving a heckler the middle finger? This in a country where people casually refer to each other as c*nts? England is just a goofy place.

Maybe this will finally end Jurgy's Shea obsession.

The one time I watched him play for Barnsley he played well.

The manager didn't agree as he was routinely benched.

There is this great hope out there that he can be a "super sub" in the WC.

England really is a strange place. I'm surprised he's not in prison for that one.

Important addition: The "heckler" was a Barnsley supporter.

I pray that Shea DOES Not make the WC squad.

We can all hope for that, but he will. I didn't even like him when he was playing for my team at FC Dallas.

Oh shut the hell up man. Is every one of your posts a contrarian rebuttal? You're not telling me or anyone else something we don't know.
As I said...I only saw him play one match...but that one I saw he created some noise.
I await your next ingenious rebuttal opinion.

That's part of it. I was actually born in Bryan (literally right next to CS for those who don't know).
The thing about Shea is you have to use him right.
Too often I have seen dumb arse things like Schellas trying to turn him into a CB or a holding mid.
The dude is a beast athlete that causes havoc on the wing due to his size so use him that way. Stop trying to change him into a player that he isn't b/c ultimately that ain't gonna give the best results.
Of course this is an issue I have with many a coach in many a sport.
Too often they have a rigid "THIS IS MY SYSTEM & YOU WILL ADJUST TO IT REGARDLESS OF IF YOU FIT IN IT OR NOT" mentality rather than the correct (IMO) "what can you do well and how can I adjust the system to use it to our advantage" way of doing things.

He has the touch of a bulldozer.

If Julian Green isn't offered a spot because of Shea, I'll be pissed. To clarify, I am not saying that Green should have a spot. However, if it's between those two, I don't see how there's even a debate.

Gervinho made a career out of it.
