Howard said he's retiring when his Everton contract expires, so he'll be retired internationally before then. He'll probably stop playing for the national team after the world cup or not long after.

He did say in January that he plans on doing the next cycle. It will probably be a Marcus Hahnemann situation though. Guzan needs to be first GK by at least 2016.

zelalem will never be a lone DM in any system.
this story confuses me some. i *highly* doubt arsenal would let him get a US passport. way too risky to get a work visa considering he doesn't fit the recent precedent. also, i thought the thing all along was that he had to be 18 before becoming eligible for citizenship? i'd look up the law, but i'm too lazy.
zelalem hasn't exactly shone in our youth set up this season, but a lot of that could be that we've played him in a B2B role in a 4-2-3-1 instead of the no. 10 which he shone in during our preseason campaign. considering how selfless he is, it also makes a little sense that he looks less impressive with less structure, less impressive teammates, etc.

ahh fair enough. just weird that there were many, many articles written on him (including some by the Post) and this is the first that's even mentioned the possibility of 1) him becoming a citizen before 18 and 2) him not having to give up his German passport. that law has been around for awhile. weird that they've just now figured that out.

Yeah. If true, I'm really glad we get him in our pool. Just a word of warning though, his star has tapered off a small bit this season. He isn't cesc. Doubt his struggles hurt him much in the eyes of our setup, but it couldn't have helped. He's not particularly close to first team action at arsenal. Probably 15-16 at the earliest. Definitely one for the future

At RM in 2018 Bedoya will be 31 so it could still be him. Maybe we will have an actual LB by then and Fabian can play RM. So much can happen.
