They couldn't even get passed the 3rd place EPL team. That is basically patched together with a bunch of players Jose doesn't even want.

the only team in the EPL i could see being a threat would be liverpool
So the only team that could threaten them is the team that finished second?
Not that team that actually won the league or knocked them out of the CL? You're a genius.

I watched a 10 man Lille last weekend control large stretches of the second half and stretch out PSG big time. Ibra also looked like he was out drinking to 4 am the night before with his touch.

PSG only won Ligue 1 by 7 points.

I think gnarkill is a troll. He's been tarding up the MSB pretty hard the past 24 hours.

Their league presents no challenge and they still could not get passed Chelsea.
I don't agree that they would steamroll the EPL but I do think its fair to say that Ligue 1 being as weak is it is hurts PSG in the CL. They don't have the opportunity to become battle tested.

Well they didn't run away with Ligue 1
The EPL is a grind, the English calendar is a grind. No winter break no nothing.
The guy is a troll or plays to much FIFA

I'm not disagreeing with you, just saying I think the lack of domestic competition hurts them in Europe and that they get bored pretty easily and don't maximize their potential at all.

I agree but on the flip side it also allows them to save/focus all their energy on those few matches. In the end I think it all evens out and isn't really an advantage/disadvantage either way.
I think they would have every chance to win the EPL but this clown's assertion that they would just stroll into the league and breeze their way to a record breaking point total is just too stupid to entertain.

Oil money should have bought a team in a better league if thats the case of the french league hurting them.

yeah it's a double edged sword, i was just saying I didn't think it was fair to use losing to Chelsea as "proof" that they couldn't hack it in the EPL. I think they would raise their game and would make a good run at finishing top 4. I don't think they could win the league without more depth.

yeah the first rule of effective trolling is that your post has to have some semblance of reality to it

Agreed that using one-off CL results is ridiculous, especially when the stronger looking club on the field doesn't always win the match.
I don't think Ajax would have won the EPL the year they beat EPL champions Man City in CL or Bilbao/Basel would have won it when they beat ManU etc etc etc. . .
I think PSG would have stood a very good chance to win the EPL this season. Saying they would dominate is extremely overboard though.
PSG has good depth . . . Lucas, Pastore, Rabiot, Marquinhos, Digne, Cabaye, Jallet are elite quality to not be in the regular starting 11.
Not sure any EPL side has that much quality in backup role and they would have easily added a couple of more squad players if they had the extra matches to play them.

those guys are all really talented but at the same time I watch a good bit of PSG and they never really "stood out" when given the chance IMO. At least not to the level that makes me think they could handle an EPL campaign. JMO
Even Cabaye, someone who has been a great player in England, didn't really look like the same guy in Paris. I don't know if it's the coaching or the lack of competition or what.

I don't disagree that most of their depth players haven't really set the world on the fire. It's why (aside from youngsters like Marquinhos, Rabiot and Digne) they haven't won first choice roles.
I also think coaching has a lot to do with your impression. Ancellotti's PSG looked a whole lot better than Blanc's to me.
However, I think there may be a bit of EPL overestimating at work in this thread in general.
For example:
Were Man City's depth players really that much more impressive as a group this year than PSG's?
Lescott, Garcia, Milner, Negredo, Jovetic, Clichy, Navas, Richards
vs
Lucas, Pastore, Rabiot, Marquinhos, Digne, Cabaye, Jallet, Menez
Or could you say that Man City didn't far too often look like they were sleepwalking though matches against lesser opponents; sometimes getting results but often not?
I suppose my point is that I just don't see the huge gap between Man City and PSG in roster quality, consistency of performance, European performance etc etc.
Certainly not enough to say PSG couldn't do just what Man City has done in the EPL or to say that Man City wouldn't drop a lot of points in Ligue 1 for the same reasons they lose to Wigan etc in England.

sure and that's to be expected but it's obviously a much better and more balanced league than L1 is in France. I think they would raise their game and with a good manager could possibly win the league but with Blanc I don't think they could hope for more than 3rd or 4th.
