Is Gooch pretty much out of consideration for call ups? I know it is League One, but he played in 39 games with 5 goals and 8 assists.

Probably. Looks like he even lost his starting spot about halfway through this season.

Did Leon Bailey finally agree to play for Jamaica?

I hope so bc he has to be exhuasted

if this was WC year that would be one thing

but the kid needs a summer off to rest esp if they go up it will be another brutal season.

One thing I noticed as well is that Danilo Acosta received a call-up for Honduras. I knew he was born in Honduras, but came up through our youth system. Thought he had a little potential, but he lost his spot in Orlando City's lineup real quick, and hasn't gotten many appearances at all.

This is much more subtle than your usual Gold Cup bashing.

Poor man's Wondolowski

Bruh, Novakovic deserves to be on the 40 man roster. Had a good season in Holland.

Shocked that Saief didn't make it.

Boyd makes him superfluous, imo, as Boyd is better (at least in better form right now). Also Saief hasn't been playing a lot for a mediocre Cinci side.

The kid just played the whole season in one of the most demanding leagues

with the potential going into the most demanding physically if they get promoted

getting hacked to death all summer by some 3rd world central american is the last thing he needs.

Tyler Adams will have him locked down.

Yeah with Yedlin out we are basically guaranteed to run the inverted RB thing with Adams starting there, unless someone in central midfield gets injured and Lima balls out in camp.

if anyone has the pace he sure does

but id rather him playing center mid where he can impact the match much better.

He just isn't that good. You could probably make a case for him making the list over Ramirez, but then you're just splitting hairs over who you'd rather have as the #5 or #6 striker.

Steffen
Adams-Long-Miazga-Robinson
Bradley
Pulisic-McKennie
Arriola-Altidore-Boyd

ETA: Just realized Gutman is on there. We're still in "some frick" territory for LB when we have USL guys getting on prelim rosters for A-team tournament.

He will play CM a lot in this formation. He was made for this hybrid RB/CM role.

Disappointed not seeing Gooch on there. Had a good season, but happy Holmes is on the list. Definitely earned it.

So Boyd good enough to start right away?

I think so, Weah's with the U20's, so it's either him, Amon or Lewis. In terms of experience and form, they are about even. Nagbe and Lletget have USMNT experience on that side as well.
