Liverpool might be as high as Clint can ever hope to get.

This is exactly right. People blaming him aren't thinking right or just hate LFC so much. He could go to Everton, United or CIty (my 3 most hated teams in the EPL) and I would be happy for him.

Well this is really where I was going with it. We have some ridiculously talented young midfielders coming through who are going to be career guys in 1-2 years. If we dropped 10mil on a band-aid, temporary fix, I'm not going to be very happy.

It could work out I guess. He could act as a bridge of sorts while the younger mids continue to develop.

I think it's a good move on 'Pool's part.. But a terrible move on Clint's part.

He made a very miniscule move up, the only difference between Liverpool & Fulham RIGHT NOW is history. I'm perfectly fine with him moving to one of the CL teams.. in any league, but if he's going to stay on a Europa team he should have stuck with Fulham and became their legend.

This. I didn't like the idea at first but the more I think about it the more I like it. It's not a negative move for Clint it's just not what most people wanted.

I got a call from the Ravens today (I went to City-Inter a couple of years ago in B'more) trying to sell tix to Spurs-Liverpool. If they are going to buy him, getting it done before they leave for the States makes sense.

Time will tell whether this is a good move or not, or hell, even if it is true. I'm never going to fault a player for taking more money. I would do the same. I just don't like LFC's players. They make me want to punch the tv when I see them. The only player I don't hate is Andy Carroll. I have no idea why, but I feel for him.

I don't see a sky sports link, just speculation from the mirror and from everything I've heard (on an iPhone so I can't really tell) the Liverpool web page looks shopped.

How could anyone dislike Steven Gerrard?

Like who?

Johnson? Enrique? Agger? Skrtel? Lucas? Gerrard? Maxi? Kuyt? Reina? Kelly? You hate those guys? Why?

I can understand Suarez, Adam, Downing, Henderson and Bellamy.

I actually compared to see and it wasn't a glaring shop, if it was. I couldn't imagine Pool putting that on there site before it is official.

If adding him to the team gets us to 4th place, it will be 10m well spent. Like I said earlier, we recoup a lot if his transfer fee on shirt sales...it's a no lose situation for LFC imo.

I couldn't blame him at all. Although the folklore with the club bears a striking resemblance to the gayness of the Cubs to me, it's definitely the most prestigious place an American has ever played. I'll definitely be pulling for him there.

Probably a contributing factor as to why Dempsey would want to go the L'pool to be able to play with a guy as quality as Gerrard.

I'm thinking the same thing. I might just be bad at spotting photoshops, but aside from the resolution that was scaled down to forum size, I don't see the difference?

A lot of people hate Suarez. Downing seems hard to hate, more a tragic figure based om last year. Spearing is ok in the sense that he just looks like a guy you'd see hanging around a gas station.

I just think even with Demps, 4th is going to be a tall task. If we grab a CL spot I will ecstatically eat my words.

The shirt sales will rake in the money I guess. We'd recoup a good chunk of his fee I'm assuming, so I get this part of the argument.
