why is everyone so down on Liverpool? They obviously have a need. They are normally a good side with a rich history.
Arsenal are trending down aren't they? Their best player is set to be moved any time now. Walcott may be leaving too.

I'm sure that's probably true, if a CL team like Arsenal came in with similar wages I'm sure he'd go there (not to mention staying in London). I just meant that in the sense that I'm sure some (especially Fulham fans) will ask why he left for for a non-Champions League team.
Also theoretically he could be in the CL the year after. I wouldn't expect that to happen but we don't really know what Liverpool are going to do, or what Spurs or even Arsenal will look like next year.

This is what I'm saying. Thank you for being rational. With RVP and Walcott leaving, he would be in perfect position to be the main guy at Arsenal and play CL. He wouldn't pass that up no matter the terms.

Ha, it sucks, I agree. Liverpool's the last place I wanted him to go (obviously I'd rather he stayed) but I get why he'd go, I'd like to make a lot more money too.

Well I'm about to talk out of my arse here but I would rather him be on a club that will be in CL.
That, and I don't care for their fan base (no offense to some of the guys on here) so I'll never buy a Liverpool jersey. I was looking forward to buying a Dempsey kit.

He will have a positive impact on the squad. There's no doubt about that. He's also in a position to start 30+ matches for LFC which will be huge. His "stardom" will continue to skyrocket and the LFC market will expand exponentially into the US. Plus he will probably make 20k more a week AND he is on a club that is moving in a positive direction. Both sides will benefit a lot, I just hope we didn't spend 1/3 of our transfer budget on a 29 year old.

Well this is really where I was going with it. We have some ridiculously talented young midfielders coming through who are going to be career guys in 1-2 years. If we dropped 10mil on a band-aid, temporary fix, I'm not going to be very happy.
