That’s not true

I’m just honest about MLS there is plenty of positives and negatives about the league

You two are MLS/USSF boot lickers tho

I say more negative things about the league than you say positive things.

You’ll see negative days in the winter in Chicago not in London
I know that for a fact not sure about Germany or Poland so was wondering the same

Yes, but it doesn't make the ones on the weekends any less important.

Great thing about the weekends is that you have a much larger window to air the games than just primetime on weeknights

No one wants to play December games in Toronto, Chicago, or Minnesota. And fans don’t want to sit in 20 degree snow flurries either. It’s a league that depends on gate revenue more than most others.

While this is true, it’s also true that putting your playoffs up against the time of the year when the NFL, College Football, NBA, and NHL are all going is not exactly a winning strategy.

That’s not even freezing.

You're getting undeservedly downvoted. I'm confused as to the source of such delusion.

The entire first half of the season would be buried under the NFL/NCAAF/MLB homestretch. If there's a time to maximize fan interest, it's at the beginning of the season when everyone has playoff aspirations, not in the second half when seasons are lost by that point. They struggle with national ratings as-is, attendance will also suffer if they force spectators to decide their entire fall, particularly in the south. Fall in ATL is owned by the Falcons and UGA. There isn't room for United at the same degree of interest. The reality is the average MLS fan is still a casual and American football comes first.

But you know what? Take the other American sports out of the equation. I'm sure once the MLS schedule is entirely aligned with the far far far superior product in Europe that domestic league interest is going to benefit. Surely.

MLS climax should not go against the sport that runs this country

O and want to know how to fix the lost in interest when a team sucks

Drum rolls...........

Make every match count and have promotion and relegation

Fans of a team in a dog fight to stay up will watch and go to matches to back their team

Well, if the MLS climax is in April/May, here's your domestic sport pecking order.

NBA playoffs
MLB opening
NHL playoffs

MLS playoffs

You're projecting your loyalty on others. The average MLS casual is not doubling down when their team is bad, and you can consider them gone if kicked down to a second division.

MLS playoffs can still do good numbers bc its the end of the season. Playoff games on the weekends would be fine. Going against Football is retarded

that same casual is watching football over MLS regardless

thats an MLS problem that has already been brought up that its niche fan support will do nothing for ratings.

The current MLS calendar will always have the league playing with one hand behind its back.

MLS owners who are also NFL owners just use MLS as a tax write off. They don’t care about any of this. The rest of the MLS owners listen to those guys because they figure they know how to run a successful league.

At this point Soccer in this country is a joke from top to bottom with only a handful of exceptions like Detroit City.
