well, I can say that the second half was better than the first. wish there could have been a goal, though.
the atmosphere at anfield is amazing. it's been a great experience.
it looked like any time we had a chance to take a shot, we hesitated.

There was definitely some urgency in the last 20 or so minutes. But Sunderland also withdrew, content with playing for the draw.
Look, I'm happy with 7 points out of 9 - beats the 0 for 9 we had the previous 3 games. Our defense definitely looks more solid.
However, its now looking like we need 4 points out of the Arsenal Manu games to try and keep close heading into the second half of the year.

What is the timetable on Sturridge's return? I homestly believe we can make up a significant gap when he returns, IF he can stay healthy.
If Balo gets that 5 match suspension, then I wouldn't mind seeing a lot of Sturridge and Lambert up top with Gerrard in an attacking mid role like he has been lately.
It is looking more and more, to me at least, that Gerrard has been out of position for a while. I think he may have lost a half a step, but I don't know that it is as bad as some are letting on.

So is anyone buying into the doom and gloom about tomorrow's game? I know we miss out on close to 28 mil if we don't advance. But most of the podcasts I listen to are saying if we lose Tuesday and Sunday it could set us back for a decade.

I'm very doom and gloom myself, and I do not expect to win tomorrow. I also think we lose to Utd on Saturday. But despite that, I don't buy into the idea that it sets the club back for a decade.

Someone just told me Studge reinjured his calf while rehabbing his thigh today. I can't find anything. Anyone heard this?

This wouldn't surprise me if true. At this point I simply don't care. We'll get another striker (or 3) in January, and hit the reset button.

It's false. And I'm surprisingly optimistic about tomorrow and this weekend

No. I think winning helps us prove we belong a bit and maybe give a little needed confidence.
But a loss is just a loss - we haven't advanced several times before and we'll likely not advance again some years in our future.
I also think we're not likely to win our next match-up. Its not like we have a shot to in the whole thing
In some ways, I would almost rather get eliminated and be able to focus on the league from this point forward. We are currently 6 points out of 4th place. I'd rather just concentrate on the league. We need to win this weekend.

Does anyone have any idea why Borini can't even make the bench? We got a 32 year old playing constantly with no minutes off, no help, and no back-up in case he gets hurt. Its ridiculous that we have no back-up even on the bench.

I don't think it'll set us back 10 years, but it would be a big financial loss... We have a lot of very young talent and I don't see one player on our squad that would jump ship if we don't qualify for UCL (next season)... BR may not be around to see them come good, but I think we'll be OK... Obviously, we really needed this season to solidify our claim on top 4 and yearly spot in the UCL, but we may have blew it... Not spending wisely and injuries have hurt us bad..
If we don't beat Basel, I can see January being a repeat of the last one and I wouldn't get my hopes up on any "big" signing... Luckily (or not), this year seems to have a lot of quality players available on a Bosman...

I'm not sure how far back it will set us. Clearly 10 years is absurd if Woy's reign only set us back half that. But it will be devastating
