Fun fact: There are no large predatory animals, venomous snakes, or dangerous spiders on the islands.

Cape Verde

Cinderella of the tournament. A number of power rankings I saw coming into the World Cup had them ranked 48/48 yet they managed draws against 2 of the top 3 nations in the world and made it out of group on their debut. Definitely worthy of being appreciated

I had never heard of Cape Verde until maybe a year ago and sure didn’t think they would make a splash at the World Cup.
