Does a percentage of the 90 million go to teams? If so, could this give reason to raise the salary cap?

I'm not sure. It would be really nice if MLS gave 2 million to each team. That would raise the cap significantly and really allow MLS teams to do a lot more. Considering this deal is literally 5x more than the previous deal, MLS could give each team 3 million dollars a year and still come out on top.

I'm an MLS fan. I attended the abortion of a Dynamo game last night. But, I'm still confused why this would happen now. Isn't there a stat going around that soccer haters like to use to show that the WNBA has higher ratings?

Its pretty clear which is trending up and which is trending down. Factor in that this WC is almost sure to have its highest-ever ratings in the US, an investment in MLS is a safe gamble.

Can't really blame them for that. That's the ultimate low-hanging fruit, and it looks really bad without context. I think that MLS will do well with its new package. This is the first year that I've had more than a passing interest in MLS, and while I've seen some fricking awful games, I've seen some crazy shite. The entertainment value can be really high.

Are MLS matches actually going to be televised? Right now you get maybe one MLS match every Sat on NBCSN.

Wow..this will be great for the game. I really think MSL will develop quickly with this (NOT to world class level, but just growth and interest in the game).
The lack of a consistent time for games really hurts it right now, plus the fact that its usually just one game a weekend on TV.

The AT&T MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup, exclusively in Spanish on Univision.
All U.S. Soccer Men’s National Team matches, including a minimum of four U.S. Women’s National Team matches each year over the term.
Exclusive MLS matches on the Univision networks will include Second Audio Program (SAP), providing viewers the option of watching games in English. English audio also will be available for matches televised on Univision’s digital platforms.
Univision Deportes Network (UDN), Univision’s 24-hour sports network, will feature 5-7 consecutive Friday doubleheaders in May and June that will be surrounded by two hours of MLS ancillary programming.
UDN will televise a weekly Sunday MLS wrap-up program and a condensed MLS match of the week.
Univision obtains digital rights across all platforms and mobile devices for the games it televises.

what cable/satellite companies work w/WatchESPN?
I'm probably going to have to leave Time Warner for either UVerse or Dish to get SECN here in Dallas. Do both of them have access to WatchESPN?
I hope this means FCD will stop renewing their bullshite deal with Time Warner Sports Channel. Right now in DFW you can't use Direct Kick to watch FCD live on a TV. The only way to do it is either get Time Warner cable or MLS Live. I could see some kind of BS blackout crap screwing things up for live viewing on WatchESPN.

Well thats three networks compared to one
The EPL gave it away on the cheap like they didn't care
When it gets re-done the next go around will not be so cheap

Nope. NBC was the highest bid for the EPL this last go around and was four times higher than the previous Fox contract. They "gave" it away because no one else valued it as high.

Of course, the EPL also has many other countries buying rights and each one adds up to a ton of revenue. MLS, not so much.
I think the MLS deal is that high because it includes US soccer games as well.
