But if you're a new viewer you could always wait for a team to "choose you"

This is really the only way to do it.

All the people I have known who decided to follow soccer arbitrarily and just "chose" a team are the least committed.

Those that took some time to try and figure things out are much more passionate.

I've said before but I tried to "choose" Liverpool but everytime they played against Chelsea (which seemed like every freaking week at the time Jose/FSW era) deep down I always was rooting for Chelsea. It took a couple of years to acknowledge and then a couple more years before I got hard core but since the 08/09 season I follow Chelsea about as much as AU football (or maybe it just feels that way since the season is so long) which I never though anything would ever touch.

Believe me, the irony that there are so many Liverpool fans on an LSU message board has not failed to register with me.

Easily the two most vile fanbases in their respective sports.

At least LSU has alabama to keep them from being the trashiest as well.

I highly doubt I will ever follow anything like I do LSU sports.

I will say, however, after doing my research last night and this morning, I feel a STRONG connection with the values that Liverpool (as a club, judging by their history/traditions) radiates, especially through the way Gerrard carries himself. I have some of the same personal characteristics as MOST of the team/club.(Obviously outside of Suarez. Skrtel... I will reserve judgement until I see more of him. He may not mean to do all the things he does... I am stopping just short of calling him a troll though, for realsies. )

Wow... An Auburn fan calling LSU fans trashy? THERE is your irony...

I don't claim that LSU fans are the classiest, but I have never seen a trashier fan base than Auburn/Ole Miss/Arkansas in general.

BTSport is airing a YNWA documentary tonight called Walk On. Should be good stuff. Probably will be up on youtube later in the week.

I said that 5 years ago too...

Skrtel will piss you off for his mental lapses, but not his effort...

Luis can be petulant and theatrical, but when you start to see his magic on the pitch.. you will be in awe..

Also, be glad you weren't around for players like Charlie Adam and a whole host of others recently that sucked...

I am already back and forth on Suarez. I swear I could stab him when he just stands there if someone doesn't pass to him at the right moment, or when he doesn't get a foul/penalty called in his favor.

Wait til he bites people during the match or racially abuses them or dives while on a yellow in the biggest match for his club in a quarter century...

Sorry but Chelsea doesn't touch Liverpool in the vile fan department which is saying a lot because apparently Chelsea's firm used to be pretty bad.

Leeds still have the Service Crew?

I knew some leeds fans, who absolutely despised them. One guy could go on for hours about what POS they were.

yes, they are a vile bunch who compensated for their inability to get results on the pitch, by terrorizing supporters of other clubs...

Like I said, pretty bad stuff from what I understand, but nothing to scale with the Liverpudlians.

Was Liverpool the primary reason or lets say the last straw that got English teams banned from Europe? Yes

Do most fans in England hold that against Liverpool? Yea id say so.

But

Chelsea after than ban did its damn best to get English clubs banned again. Smashing up stadiums, drug rings and extreme right wing ties are nothing to brag about.

Is the Red Army a bunch of well behaved gentleman?

Not a chance. We are more of a nuisance who just like drinking pubs on aways dry than smashing them up when we are done.

I watched that documentary on the firms, and the dude mentioned that the ,"Raves" stopped English hooliganism almost completely, that the youth found other means to let their frustrations with life out.
