. Its called the "friendly derby" and its the only rivalry game in England that doesn't segregate the fans. This is because most families in Liverpool are split down the middle: dad and daughter are blue, mom and son are red, etc. Makes for a very interesting dynamic that you don't find anywhere else.
I don't think wearing blue in the kop would be a good idea.
There is still an Everton away section, FA policy is you are an away fan openly cheering for the away team in the home stand you will be kicked out.

A famous chant that used to be sung was "Merseyside! Merseyside! Manchester are you watching?" If you can find a video of it it will make your hair stand on end listening to an entire stadium sing in unison about teams they hate more than each other.
Are you watching? are you watching? are you watching Merseyside?

Liverpool's captain likes to jump people in bars too.

So after reading up on team histories and the traditions of each between Everton and LFC, I have come to a decision...
LFC
The stadium, the anthem, the crest, the thought behind the switch to all reds... Everything about LFC is driven by a passion and drive to win, to take pride in what you do, and have no fear.
Color me red. Chelsea has been downed.

Wise choice... You are joining at quite possibly the most exciting time in recent history!! regardless if we win the title or not...
**prepare yourself for being called bandwagon... but there is plenty of room YNWA!!!

The only question now is how long until the mention of Hillsborough personally offends and profoundly affects you? That's when you'll be a true red.
Seriously though, with your love of Suarez you'll fit in well with the scum trash.

DByrd... it would offend most football fans, except the Chelsea supporters who sang through the minutes silence yesterday... classy bunch... They support a club owned by a Russian Gangster (Vladimir Putin's buddy) and players bought with blood money, yet they judge

Not even having heard of that tragedy before this 30 for 30 came out, the way that it all happened, it could have been prevented by law enforcement AND more intelligent individuals. I would say, if I had seen that as it happened, it would be a touchy subject. Sensitivity, people.
Also, Steven Gerrard is probably one of the main reasons I chose LFC. The man is outright devoted to bringing pride to an already proud organization, all because he loves what he does. Definitely how I'd like to see myself one day. I love players/people that have that kind of daily drive, it makes me envious.
Also, YNWA is a tradition that is undeniably cool as frick. I'd love to make it to Anfield one day and sing along.

Hell, I can't imagine it looking better than Anfield in the day.
I mean just about every pitch looks fantastic, especially in all the sun. I hate myself for not giving this sport a chance before. There's just something about it that is incredibly striking.

Only in Liverpool fantasy land can you be more offended by people, not even in the stadium, singing during a moment of silence than by the actual people partly responsible for the act that caused it.

I can respect that at least, he and Brendan Rodgers are top class no doubt. Terry and Steve are two true warriors that will be irreplaceable at their respective clubs when they are gone.

By the same token, it would seem it is damn near an intellectual insult to the current fans about a past issue. Kinda like saying "wow, you bitches are stupid for acting like a bunch of sardines". The fans know it was stupid, and that sentiment should be applied to all fans. If the correct measures were in place, it wouldn't have happened to begin with. So if I had any stake in that argument, I'd probably respond with a very quick "Frick off" as well.
But that is an outside opinion. I do think it was stupid of all those fans, but the facility didn't protect against stupid because that was a point in time that we were still dealing with "unfathomables", but weren't protecting ourselves from future occurences as a society in general (to include the USA).

Not sure what this means.

No, if fans had controlled themselves it wouldn't happen to begin with. If correct measures had been in place it wouldn't have reached the level of catastrophe it did.

You are right but you are not going to fit in well with your fellow supporters.

Liverpool are very fun to watch no doubt. But if you're a new viewer you could always wait for a team to "choose you". I started out several years ago more interested in ManU and Pool, but over time found myself rooting for Arsenal more and more. Took me almost 10 years before I could truly say I was a fan.
Hell, I even considered City after I watched a documentary on them. But Chelsea was never an option. F*#@ Chelsea and their damn commitment to doing whatever is necessary to win trophies :)

I was referring to the "crush", as I have seen it called, by the sardine analogy. Poor analogy,I know, but it was all I had... Was a bit preoccupied.
Too many people in one place, really stupid. I feel like that could be the way it is taken/meant when brought up. A "we know it was stupid, but you are insensitive" feeling for the LFC fans. I could be wrong, as clearly I haven't been at this wholesoccer thing llong.

Yes, people need to apologize for showing up to get into a sporting event and trying to get in... and even though the crowds were in excess, being routed into pens, not really knowing whats going on and crushing people... then being locked in those pens because police didn't react properly and do their jobs properly... They were unprepared and fricked up...
41 people COULD have possibly been saved if that had occurred...
Yes, people are upset by loved ones losing their lives at a football match, but its the COVER UP and deflection of blame to the fans that people can't forget...
They could have admitted guilt, it would hurt, but people would have gotten past it and just mourned their loved ones and this tragic event...
The cover up is why this has been a campaign for justice, 25 years on... Hopefully soon, the families will get just that!
So no, no one in their right mind would blame someone for leaving their house expecting to see a football match, over morons intentionally showing disrespect for the tragedy and injustice by not observing a minutes silence and intentionally singing over it..

As someone with no stake in that tragic event, I fail to see how anyone can not understand that...
And that singing during the moment of silence is a horseshite thing to do, inside or out of the stadium. If they were outside the stadium, but close enough to be heard singing it, undoubtedly they could have heard the PA announcement of the moment of silence. It is garbage, completely trashy, if you ask me.
