Very true. But good defense only address the back line. What's the excuse for the midfield and the attack?

I wouldn't say it only addresses the back line, with a lot of solid defensive players all over the pitch. But I do agree we have had problems scoring in some games, specifically breaking down teams with 10 players in the box, but in big games recently we have been playing exciting soccer if you ask me (PSG, Arsenal).

We can't really afford to go into Anfield hoping for a draw either so I think that will be a very up and down match, playing more-so into Liverpool's style, as every match they seem to play in does.

There's nothing wrong with being pragmatic. Mou is a genius, and if he has to play defensive football to do so then by all means. I just don't enjoy watching it. Which is a complete 180 from how I used to enjoy the game.

With Hendo out and likely Studge for the rest of the year I think Chelsea have no problem getting the win. Honestly, at this point I'm thinking 3-1 Chelsea.

3-1? Slow your roll. We beat man city basically without studge as he was a non factor until he got hurt. Losing hendo hurts, but to be honest I haven't been extremely impressed with Chelsea this year. If they come in and hang 3 on us, I'll be shocked (even with our poor d).

Their midfield is their biggest threat. Hendo's pressing was crucial to keep them in check.

John Henry said that Boston and Liverpool have a lot in common. He's right they are both filled with drunks that can't talk

We don't have a striker. It's not as if we don't have chances we just don't convert them. It's not boring it's just ineptitude.

Case in point the Swansea game. We looked terrible and it was beyond frustrating but we missed three chances that should have basically been tap ins. If we convert those and win 3 or 4-0 would it still have been considered boring or poor?

Frustrating is a much more appropriate word. Though given the choice I'd rather be solid and "boring" than 6's and 7's all over the place but I'm a bit old fashioned in my approach to sports.

I've always respected Mou's game. I was the first to come to Chelsea's defense for their tactics in the European final. Solid defense, pragmatic play, and a ruthlessness on the counter is nothing to be ashamed about.

That doesn't mean its fun to watch.

I think a rope-a-dope, defensive and counterattacking style can be fun to watch personally, as long as they actually counterattack and don't just sit in their own box.

whoa buddy the self righteous Liverpool fans claim they are not bandwagon and Liverpool was just a mid table side and not an English blue blood.

Wow... There is a lot of "subtle butthurt" between teams' fans...

I can't wait til I can join in and flame/troll people. Playfully and tastefully, of course, but I am missing out on a lot of fun. I really need to watch a bunch of old matches and learn the strategy of the game. I love X's and O's talk.
