Beautiful ball there, great control with the chest.

That was kind of a good ball from Bernardo

I hate how I never know what to think about these goals. I keep waiting and waiting and waiting for maybe an offside decision to finally be made or a VAR review or a tweak to the broadness of the line between offside and not.

It impedes the artistry and flow of the game along with my appreciation of it. It’s replaced with cold mechanical joyless hyper-precision.

I don’t like it.

Rice is a statue. A Foden-Mount pairing would get played around, as neither are natural deep players. Kante is a better midfielder than any of them by a long way, as he covers an immense amount of ground, is rarely ever on the wrong side of his opponent, and is a good passer in his own right.

Pogba is a wonderful between the lines passer when he's played slightly withdrawn and has players in front of him to play with, as he does with France and isn't necessarily true when he plays with Man U. He's played very well for Man U though, and gets a disproportionate amount of the blame for their problems. Mbappe is a wide forward which isn't the same as Kane, who is striker, but Mbappe is a better wide player than any on England, though Sancho has a chance to reach that level.

To say France is better on paper is arguable.

They have the better technical education, produce players with world-class technique on the regular (many of whom play for other nations), and can pretty much change their style on the fly, if need be. England is regressive, with Southgate a rather poor manager. Deschamps is practical, in ways that Southgate is not.

There is nothing worse than a 5 minute VAR review to take away a goal because a fingernail was by an elbow 1mm off.

That counter was run beautifully by Portugal. They do have to do something about the William-Danilo axis. That is a pretty slow midfield.

Can’t believe we haven’t seen Sancho yet

The only thing I’ve liked seeing from them are the flashbacks of Phillips being an 8 in the shite years before Marcelo

Long-sleeved jerseys need to make a come back.

I've liked what I've seen from Phillips, but Southgate should have that team playing more progressive. He chose his midfield extremely poorly.

Yep, a good bit of players used to rock them.
And I'm not a fan of the long-sleeved undershirt fad either.

Foden doesn’t play the same position as Kante and Pogba

England just scored Zero goals against Scotland, in London
