Scholes actually only played LM 8 times
Sinclair only got a chance because of Gerrard and Murphy injuries
One of the reasons I hate people like Rio Ferdinand commentating on England is because he's admitted that Lampard was his best friend at West Ham but when they were at Chelsea/United he refused to talk to him at England camps because of the club rivalry and being worried about giving away an advantage.
That club vs country divide has gone away and we are producing. The same happened with Spain for Barca v Madrid and they dominated, although Enrique is bringing it back with not selecting Ramos

McManaman was a really good midfielder. I don't remember the drama with Ericcson dropping him randomly.
Let's not forget the shortened careers of Owen Hargreaves, Wilshere, Ox, and Ledley King, who all had very good technical skills but shite injury luck. And how many players had to suffer under Capello's famous 9-1 formation, built around Emile Heskey. Although there were some games where Rooney behind Heskey made Rooney look like a god, like the time they demolished Croatia 4-1 in Zagreb with a fricking Walcott hatrick.
If they had a competent development program in 2001 instead of 2010, you have to think England could have placed during the years they had such amazing first team players.

They dominated because the FA and del Bosque forced Pique and Ramos to be honest with each other, like I imagine in an action film where Ramos and Pique admit their hatred for one another but also begrudgingly admit their respect.
A lot of that was driven by the FA as well, which is what drove the tika-taka style, which suited the Spanish players very well.

Uruguay v Columbia has been much more entertaining than the two euro matches today.

Watching SA soccer after European soccer is crazy. It's so much less organized overall and way more fiery with the individuals involved. I think they are way more dramatic as well, but I would also so it's more physical overall with the tackles

Yeah, thats why they usually lose in the World Cup, unless you get the overwhelming talent differential with some of the Brazilian teams.

SA futbol is bloodsport. They absolutely DESPISE each other. No real hatred like this in Europe.

I did too. First thing I searched was “Harry maguire Sheffield United” and saw that was from their official Twitter. Amazing.

I didn’t know Artful Dodger left his life of pickpocketing to play for Sheffield United

My first thought was “why is this lesbian wearing a Sheffield United kit?”

Definitely felt strong lesbian vibes when I saw that too.
