Anybody else have a desire to punch Pickford in the grill when he starts bitching at his defenders? Idk maybe it’s me.

Man watching this game and the earlier game, the technical difference between CONCACAF and UEFA becomes so apparent. There are so many players who are so comfortable on the ball and can do what is needed with it. The smaller teams are just a toothy, temperamental Muslim playmaker away from being pretty good.

One thing I’ve learned coaching is that Hispanic players are all kind of taught to play the same way from an early age. Very good touch, good 1v1 offensively and defensively, fierce on 50/50 balls, but they do not play well as a unit. It’s easier to hit them on counters, easier to keep your shape defensively and win balls, etc.


European players tend to have that 1v1 skill but also understand the game on a deeper level in regards to team play.

That’s how it was on my travel and high school team growing up 20 years ago

Same exact shite and they had a hard time integrating into those teams

When I stopped playing travel and just played in what we used to call house leagues which after 14 was basically travel ball without a ton of the bullshite. We would play teams that was all Hispanic kids who just moved to the states, who couldn’t afford travel and some of them despite how technically good they were, played awful as a team.
