Law is pretty clear; if the defender makes no attempt to play the ball in the area, it's a penalty and a red.

I’d feel way more hard done by with the handball non-call than by the red.

Its pretty clear Amorim is pulling a Mourinho 2017 when he chalked the end of the season just to have a healthy squad for the Europa league semi and final. I think they did well all things considered. We have to go balls to the wall for that champions league spot for winning the europa.

That was a hell of strike, bad turn over led to the goal though

Garnacho needs to finish that chance

Let’s get one in the second half and cruise it out to win the tie

This has been one of the worst halves of football I've seen United play this season. Miracle they haven't scored yet.

Best 30 minutes of the season.

Amad will surely start but Mount may deserve a start in the final too.

Also despite a goal Hojlund may be the worst player Ive ever seen. Im curious how many turnovers he had today

For a good 65 minutes we were really bad, Hojlund has regressed so much. He has lost the ability to dribble and be in good positions.

Amad and Mount coming on really changed everything.

After today’s dud against now-15th West Ham, Amorim’s 25 EPL matches are as follows

6 wins (3 on relegated teams)
6 draws
13 losses

If a proper manager doesn’t have the side he wants, he still ends up close to the European positions, not staring 17th in the face with 2 likely losses remaining. He has to make something of what he has. His system clearly does not work for this league (which is how you end up with a 16th place team in a deep European run) and financial restrictions aren’t going to make an overnight personnel overhaul realistic. I like the guy but I do not see any justification whatsoever to keep him around

Ah yes here come the guys wanting another manager sacked thinking its the system. Let me ask, Did the back 4 deep block work with Mourinho and Ole? No. Ten Hag had to completely scrap his Ajax system after 2 games at United because the players are that incapable. This isn't a manager issue, its a board issue. They signed over $200 million dollars worth of players in the summer for a manager they clearly didn't want. Now they want a manager to come in mid season and make lemonade out of shite. It's going to take a good 2+ full seasons for Amorim to implement his system correctly and for the club to actually force the losers out that have become complacent with losing.

Sacking another manager would be the absolute worst thing we could do. It's a long road ahead and quite possibly the hardest job in Europe. Back the manager and if he's still shite after 2 FULL seasons then I'm sure we will do what we always do, sack a manager and think its the answer to all our problems.
