You think? He ain't gonna troll the coach and expect to get any caps if he returned?

Of course he will score more goals than Chelsea forwards. I have the same number of league goals as Chelsea forwards right now.

He won't request a transfer.

Lukaku was one of the centerpieces of my "take a crappy team and make them contenders" project on FIFA 13

They have a ton of strikers, Lukaku is still very raw, and Lukaku will benefit the most from regular playing time. This is preferable to Lukaku splitting time with three relatively high profile strikers.

I honestly can't believe that people are making such a big deal out of this considering that this is the same team that let the current Premier League leading scorer languish on the bench for years. Chelsea is actually operating with some degree of foresight this time around.

If Chelsea fans want to complain, fine. I might too if I was watching a striker owned by the club actually score. Otherwise, the decision doesn't merit the criticism that it has received thus far.

i agree with the first sentence. i'd agree with the second if those strikers' performance in the past couple of years made them high profile. for some clubs, the amount they invested in Torres and Ba could force them into the XI. chelsea can just eat that cost though. then they brought in eto'o, an odd signing due to his age and Russian excursion, when they maybe didn't have to. i'm not sure i see the foresight in that signing. Lukaku may be raw, but he was still a better option than Torres and Ba going into this season. I would say Eto'o too. he should have gotten plenty of PT at Chelsea this season.

the only way there's foresight in the move is if Jose made another miscalculation, similar to his with Mata, and was going to refuse to play him.

I wouldn't call them strikers.

So give him his regular playing time at Chelsea. He is very raw. But he also understands that they have total shite up top and anything, even if he underperforms, is better than what they currently have. The days of the infamous pressure on Chelsea forwards to score 25 a season are over. If Chelsea got 10 goals from their forwards they'd probably win the league. The kid has proven he is immune to pressure. He scores when he wants.

At the detriment to this season. Operating without an even remotely decent forward can be more trouble than you're leading everyone to believe. The league was theirs to lose this season and the lack of striker goals will catch up to them if they don't do something soon.

I am convinced Mourinho has brought a time machine with him to bring back the Torres and Eto'o of five years ago. BPL fricked.

By relatively, I meant not Nicklas Bentdner.

I think that the problem lies here:

similar to his with Mata, and was going to refuse to play him.

And, I'm not necessarily sure that it's a miscalculation. I've seen Lukaku play once for Everton this year, against Newcastle. He was brilliant for three minutes and spent the better part of the rest of the game losing the ball.

With the Eto'o signing, Mourinho got someone who is familiar with, who will do exactly what he asks, and can do exactly what Mourinho asks. If you can't/won't do what Mourinho wants, Mourinho will bench you unless your name is Ronaldo. Could it be done differently? Sure, but I don't think that Mourinho's decision is outrageous, and I think that it's fairly clear that they will be moving forward with Lukaku.

if he possesses such technology, he should deploy it sooner rather than later.

If he possesses that technology, then he can deploy whenever he wants and redo the entire season.
