It can be a problem, but I don't think that Chelsea's forwards are incapable of a modest output coupled with some significant work away from the goal.
Feel free to bump this in May if I'm wrong.

I guess that's our inherent disagreement. Torres is incapable of modest output in front and away from goal. I'd venture to say he's one of the worst forwards in the league right now. His touch, passing accuracy, pace and decision making are on par with mine. Just inexcusably bad. There are times (more often than not) that he leaves me with my mouth hanging open, just baffled at what he was thinking. Ba is slightly better, but only slightly.

I certainly could be wrong. I try not to take the mantra that my opinion is vastly superior to anyone on this board. If anything, I usually don't know what the frick I'm talking about, so if I disagree with you you're in good shape.

Oh, I didn't mean it that way. I can rationalize Mourinho's decisions pretty well and would deserve the ridicule if I'm wrong.

What are you labeling as modest for the trio? 25 combined goals in the league? More? Less?

Less. The ~10 goals mentioned earlier would be a start. The 25 goals ship has already sailed.

Did you know that Mourinho was just trying to fix Tito's contact?

In my opinion, if the 3 of them can't score 3/4 goals a person on that Chelsea team then they should not be getting paid to play soccer.

for the record, i did like eto'o in his first chelsea match. did everything but score well. the next few bits i saw in subsequent matches were less encouraging.

If history holds, Torres will find a way to pad his goalscoring tally and somehow end up as top scorer.

I only saw the first. If Eto'o has regressed severely, then I partially retract some of my statements.
