re: Liverpool's Slot Machine, Season 2: RIP Diogo! WTF is going on?

...of course it is Konate

If you're Slott just take him off at the half. Move Gravenberch to Centerback and bring on Jones or Endo at holding mid. Bradley on the other hand is playing like the best Rightback in the world this week.

Two unlucky goals but we've been absolutely dominated this half so it's hard to argue 0-2 is unfair at the break

Poor and unlucky is no way to play at the Etihad for sure. They've completely dominated us. We were dropping Gravenberch back to the center alongside Ibou to get the ball off his feet those last 10 minutes. Just go ahead and make the move.

Such BS to knock off our goal
Posted on 11/9/25 at 11:33 am to reggierayreb
Konate at fault for both. If the spine of the team has a weakness you will ship goals.

Another ugly showing. This team just cannot find a groove this year.

Not sure what the answer is. Salah is a black hole on the right wing and Konate makes 2-3 boneheaded plays a game that result in big chances or goals. We are missing Diaz in the attack. His goal record wasn’t the best but he could make something out of nothing, which is what we tend to generate lately.
Our best run of form came with Szoboslai at right back, I’m not sure why we don’t give that a try again. We don’t have the pace to spread teams out and beat them down the flank. If the team is setup to run narrow then throw Isak and Ekitike up top and put Wirtz in the hole and run narrow.
And start Joe Gomez

Bradley has been playing really great at RB.
Konate is a big problem obviously, but i think Salah is the bigger issue. Teams aren't even sending that 2nd guy to stop him anymore, and he's still not doing anything positive. last year anytime he touched the ball a 2nd defender would come over frantically to help, now they just leave him one on one and he just dribbles straight into the defender and loses the ball more often than not.
just some way too early transfer news:

Liverpool are keen on Brighton & Hove Albion winger Yankuba Minteh, according to Football Insider. It is said that the Reds are "plotting a move" for the 21-year-old, having identified him as a potential future replacement for Mohamed Salah, who will enter the final 18 months of his deal at Anfield in January. Minteh has directly contributed to four goals in 11 Premier League matches this season, and previously worked under Liverpool manager Arne Slot during his time at Feyenoord.

did they miss a clear offside?
Posted on 11/22/25 at 9:37 am to bad93ex
That was a much more obvious call than the city one and they still fricked it up. Zero consistency
Posted on 11/22/25 at 9:39 am to djsdawg
I dont see how you call offside against Robbo and not that one... I think it ends up a goal regardless, just like Virgils.. but the consistency is shitty..

Arne Ten Hag
6 players played 90 minutes in an incorrect position. Sounds more like Hodgson 2.0

Ight it’s time to sack slot. Dude is an idiot

It just shows that team chemistry can't be bought. This team lost a lot of people that we wanted gone and some we didn't. The Jota loss is hard to quantify how much that changed this team.
We have the talent. Could we use a few not guys sure. They have to figure how to play together. Money can't fix that.
I still think we can beat any team if they just figure it out.

This reminds me of the season we had Henderson and Fabinho playing center back. We have to stop playing Szoboszlai at right back. Gomez, Ramsay or some other academy right back has to play until Bradley and frimpong are healthy.
Yes, szobo is good at right back but you lose too much from the midfield without him in it.

We just can't defend as a team well at all. Wednesday's CL match is a big one for Slott. Never would've believed at the start of the season I'd be typing this but I think if he loses to PSV @ Anfield he gets sacked. Need a big response after laying an egg on Saturday.
