We’ll never experience another window like this again

Premier League clubs don't have to have their transfers fully complete by the time the window closes at 7pm BST (2pm ET), but the deal does have to be in progress. Teams are allowed a two-hour 'grace period' to complete a signing if they submit a deal sheet to the Premier League ahead of the deadline.

Well don't let Joe Gomez go anywhere

Crystal can frick off. It’s fine we will take him for half price in January or free next summer. Just dumb by them honestly. They won’t come close to relegation without him, just sell now.
I think we are fine with Gomez and leoni as backups tho for time being

Igor, Thanks a lot for stopping the greatest transfer window of all time.

Bummed about Guehi but hopefully we can get him in January before the CL knockouts
We are fine as long as Gomez stays healthy. Which sadly isn’t really much of an if but when. Sucks so bad he’s been so injury prone cause he could’ve been part of our back line for over a long time

We had personal terms agreed over a month ago. We thought we had them in a “must sell” mode due to him walking for free in a year. In a window where we spend 400+ and sold damn near 300 we played with fire to save a couple bucks. We should have offered the 35 then and been done with it. Only mistake Hughes made but this one could really bite us in the arse. Let’s hope we don’t frick about in January with this guy.

Given we got in Leoni and Gomez didn't leave... barring catastrophe, I think we can hold out on Guehi until January... Hopefully, CPFC Is proactively lining up a replacement..
I'm still not sure how we couldn't have arranged to send Gomez the other way.. especially if the rumored €15m asking price was real... seems like a no-brainer for CPFC to do that deal...
Honestly, I love Joe's versatility and think he's more than capable of playing meaningful minutes at CB if healthy... I hope we can find a way to re-sign him.. but think he'll eventually leave for a starting role at a smaller club..

Me too. You have to have guys like him on your squad.
I still want Guehi in January. He's simply better than Konate.

I really hope we get him in Jan, too.. though I don't think he's better than Konate.. Maybe more reliable health wise..
I think Konate is easily a top 5 CB in the EPL... I feel some people are acting like he's turned into Dejan Lovren after a couple of rough outings...
I just think the ability to have Guehi fill in for Konate or VVD and still have a championship level CB tandem would be immense... Just his versatility as a CB.. a right footed CB, who primarily plays on the left...

Last thought before I resume vacation (rain is stopping!).. In our biggest games, I wouldn't be opposed to starting Dom at RB to get our best players on the pitch... I know that's not where he wants to play, and its a small sample size, but he just has to be on the pitch if healthy...

Joe Gomez came into Sunday's game playing like a man on a mission. Guehi talks definitely lit a fire in him. Muscling Eze off the ball while out of position in the 85th minute may have been the defensive play of the game for me. You can question his fitness record but not his effort.

Sure if Frimpong is not playing, I completely agree.
Szobo needs to be on the pitch though, i agree. I don't know how they are going to decide who's the 3 guys at midfield out of the 4. Wirtz and Gravenberch seem to have to be starters, leaving Mac or Szobo to take the other starting spot and the other on the bench.
I really like how Kerkez played against Arsenal. It was a big improvement over the first 2 games he played.
I think Frimpong is going to be a difference maker with his speed down the right side with Salah (who's quietly off to a bad start with his form, tons of terrible touches in the box it seems)

I don't think Konate is as good as people think.
He's had guys covering up for his mistakes for some time now.
We've played 3 games and he has only 8 duels won, and 7 lost.
3 aerial duels won, 1 lost. How a CB has only had 4 aerial duels shows his lack of aggression, and proves he's been simply letting balls bounce instead of actually heading them.
VVD has 21 duels won, 7 lost.
VVD has 17 aerial duels won, 5 lost.
How one CB has that many more than the other is a bit ridiculous.
Konate has 2 tackles won in 3 games. Fricking Szobo has 7 as a RB in 2 games.
It's his lack of aggressiveness that is bothersome to me, and you just can't play that way as a CB. and it's not just to start this year. You could see this towards the end of last year. It's not become a glaring issue to the teams success b/c we are that good everywhere else, but it's a problem, and if we want to win the Champions League, then he needs to play better.

While I think Frimpong is an exciting talent, Ive had my doubts about him playing RB full-time at a high level.. I'd love to have him put those concerns to rest...
I think our 3 best MF'ers are Macca, Wirtz and Szobo... However, Gravenberch is the most suited to play the 6.. so he'll get in by default if healthy.. Since Palace fricked us in the 11th hour on Guehi, I really hope we go all in on Wharton next summer...
Yeah, Kerkez was not very good the first couple of matches, but he played well against Arsenal...
There was a time that Klopp used to take months to integrate new signings into the team, but with the amount of turnover this summer, we've just had to put players in and have them work though playing together in real matches.. I think it will all come together soon... especially in the attack..
