First EPL goal for Chiesa and you know he’s on cloud nine after last year.

So happy for him

We’ve gotta fix our defending though. I understand it’ll take some time for Kerkez and Frimpong to gel but Konate looked awful

Thought frimpong was ok. Kerkez eh. Konate was poor. Wirtz will take a little time to gel but I see the potential

I think Frimpong needs to bulk up just a tad.

I honestly think we give up 1 goal at most with Gravenberch at holding mid. He provides some of the best cover in the PL. What a moment for Fede.

They need to get the Guehi deal done asap. I know they feel they'll get him for free if they wait until next summer, but I've had enough of Konate.

And really need Gravenberch back there in midfield. His a critical part of the defense. Let Szobo and Mac share time and stay fresh all year.

Ekitike still looks really good.

You guys need to go watch the highlight of the Salah goal for Cody Gakpo’s reaction.

Konate has been pissing me off since my trip to Anfield in 23. Always falling apart and not paying attention when he needs to.

Happy for Chiesa... You could see the joy on his face!

We have been needing a Holding Mid since Fabinho's decline... Shoehorning Grav into that position is not the answer IMO... he has a lot of good qualities, but it was evident last year and us winning the league glossed over that... I think its even more evident with Frimpong at RB.. We were far from great defensively last season..

Konate has been off it all preseason and needs to pick it up... I hope we bring in Guehi and Ibou realizes he won't be an automatic starter if he doesn't pick it up..

I think Wirtz will take a little time to acclimate to the physicality of the EPL, but you can see all his qualities..

ALso, I know it was one of the criticisms against him but Kerkez... stay on your feet, dude...

Anybody else worried about being left short here in the attack or at CB? I think we are behind Arsenal and City right now with squad depth and not too encouraged about Isak or Guehi right now. To add to that list who knows what the hell is going on with Ibou? It seems like we are cutting it way too short.

I think we'll get Guehi signed next week. Ton's of reports expecting that to be the case.

I don't know what's going to happen with Isak. Feels like he's going to be apologizing and staying with Newcastle more than likely, and we can't afford to not get another striker right now. Ekitike has been great thus far, but even he has said the PL is a different beast and he's not fit enough to play a whole game right now.
I don't think there's any chance Newcastle let him go unless they can bring in a replacement, if not two.

Multiple sources saying Rodyrgo's agents are talking to Liverpool and Man City this week and that they are certain he's moving to the Premier League this transfer window.
quote:

TEAMtalk understands that Madrid want €100million (£86.2m, $116m) for Rodrygo, who did not even come off the bench against Osasuna in Los Blancos’ opening LaLiga game of the season on Tuesday.

Football Insider has now reported that Rodrygo’s agents have flown into the UK to have meetings with Liverpool and Man City.

The representatives of the 24-year-old Brazil international forward will ‘hold talks’ with the likes of Liverpool and Man City over ‘a blockbuster move’, according to the report.

I'd love Rodyrgo, but Gakpo has been playing so well on the left, and I also don't want to stunt Rio's development.

quote:

Harvey Elliott could be on his way out of Liverpool, too, with the attacker having agreed on personal terms with RB Leipzig.

The Reds would reluctantly sell him if the correct price is offered, but they are more than happy to keep him because he remains a valued squad player who gives his all to try and stake a claim to start every week.

Ben Jacobs believes it is Liverpool's preference to keep Harvey Elliott rather than sell him at this late stage in the summer.

This isn't great though:

quote:

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has confirmed a huge blow with new signing Jeremie Frimpong set to be ruled out until after the first international break after suffering a hamstring injury.

Bradley is supposed to be ready. Either he or Gomez will start and get spelled by the other. Newcastle's players are going to be out for blood. Joelinton is one of the dirtiest MFing players in the entire league. He and Bruno will both be trying to take our guys out. I just know it.

The midfield match up against NUFC scares me... they are very physical and our MF is attack heavy... I hope they dont get run over on Monday...

Big one today fellas

St James Park is one of those fixtures each year where we’d take 1 point but damn do I want to beat their arse. 4 points in our next 2 games would be great

While expected Newcastle to come out more than ready to play, this is ridiculous.
We cannot keep the ball to save our life. It’s like we are playing 2 men down it feels.
Just get through this first half and hope they lose their energy in the second half.

Jesus Konate.
Guehi can’t get here soon enough.
