VVD has really lost a step or two since his injury. We have zero creative midfield right now. The fact we start Milner hedo and Elliott at midfield is embarrassing.

I don't think his mistakes had anything to do with pace or quickness. His head just hasn't been in it.

Said all this shite last week and the only person who co-signed was a damn city fan.
It’s clear as day Klopp is a one trick pony and we can be beat by subpar competition cause he never, ever changes tactics. Been saying this for over a year. We’re on a big decline and Sadio was the only reason why it wasn’t super evident last year. He was the beating heart of the squad, not Mo. We’ll be lucky to make top 4.

Not just this game or the last few. Doesn't look like he has the speed as before. Now his effort this year? Heart definitely not into it.

We have to make midfielder signings or we are truly fricked
Posted on 8/23/22 at 7:02 am to FlappingPierre
No doubt. I know we have injuries but we should not be starting Milner in any important match. Henderson is another one that should be definitely coming off of the bench. Thiago is always hurt and Naby should have been offloaded in the summer. FSG need to splash some cash and back Klopp. frick waiting for Jude.

So, that being said, who do we want to see brought in? Haven’t seen us linked with anyone recently beside Nunes who has signed already. There were rumblings of Tielemans a while back.

I mean there are plenty of better midfielders in the world than Henderson and Milner. One of my few gripes with Klopp is his insistence that they aren’t going to buy a player that can’t slot into the first 11…but given the age profile of our midfield, a stop gap player is necessary. They’ve waited too long to address it. Now they have guys that are really old and guys that are really young.
It’s like we want to sign players for the future, or the next Gerrard. American bias aside, if Aaronson and Adams are buzzing around our midfield yesterday I don’t think they’re getting played off the pitch.
Barella was a link in the summer. All bullshite aside I think Weston Mckennie does what Klopp wants his number 8 to do, which is cover every blade of grass

Lmao.
We were on a super decline last year, and Sadio is the only reason we made history by playing every possible game in front of us, were alive for a quadruple at the last day of the season, won the League Cup, won the FA Cup, lost the league by one point, and lost the CL final?
Man, Sadio must be the best player in history if he is the reason our decline wasn't super evident last year.

We're not on the decline (though, in a way, being on the verge of 4 trophies is about the best you can do and its unlikely to be the case each season so I guess thats a decline in some way)
However, we needed Jota for the depth, and we needed Diaz for the depth, and he's ended up replacing Mane. So we're still short a piece in attack - maybe Carvalo plays there over time?
As for the defense, they look like they are still in preseason. Gomez and TAA need to get on the same page. Maybe its a hangover from last year and the early start this year?
More importantly, we're missing a big piece in the midfield right now. Fab, Tiago and Keita are the only three midfielders we have with actual creativity. The others can all have their moments, but they aren't unlocking anything. Unfortunately, all three of them experience injury issues throughout each season. When tthey overlap, we have nothing else. Throw in the midfield depth of Hendo, Ox, etc. are normally also injured multiple months a year and the midfield is a huge issue.

I think Klopp has lost confidence in Keita
I hope he gets it turned around
Some of the best passes I've seen this year
to wingers have been from Trent. Not a midfielder
we need to operate better in tight spaces as well
we face packed in defenses a lot
I hope he gets it turned around

For sure we are in trouble. I wasn't trying to say otherwise.
All I was saying is we weren't in a decline last year that was somehow covered up by Mane. If we were, then why didn't Mane win the Balon d'or? No single player could disguise our "decline" so well last year that we almost achieved the quadruple.
Undoubtedly, we have some major issues right now. But those issues have nothing at all to do with last year, which was two goals away from being our greatest season ever in the history of the club.

Henderson and Milner are not at this level anymore, it was negligence to not upgrade at the #8 knowing the fitness issues with Naby and Thiago

He has always made things look effortless except now it looks like a lack of effort because its piss poor play.

i will say, it is somewhat nice knowing that we won't have that inevitable sinking feeling of missing the Premier League title by a single point or two on the final day of the season... we got that disappointment out of the way early...

Someone please tell me there’s rumors of us trying to get another mf
I’ve been too depressed about Monday to read anything (other than I saw Keita might be out for awhile…fricking SHOCKER)
