Trent and Gomez covering that side is recipe for disaster and doubly so with no midfield cover. Matip coming on made a massive difference.

Getting everyone healthy should see this team correct the ship, but it’s terrifying to know that we are once again one or two injuries away from mediocrity. We need depth. Time to start cutting dead weight IMO. Keita, Ox, Gomez all need to be moved along. Hendo and Milner should be coming off the bench until their contracts run out.

Gomez just signed a new contract, so I doubt he moves soon.

likely need him for the home-grown component or something.

He's been terrible this year. I don't remember his being as big of a liability when called upon last year.

I am struggling to think of any player to take such a nosedive between two years. Maybe Lovren right before he was sold, but even then I don't think he was this bad (and that's saying something).

TAA looks and plays like he is stoned...or just DGAF anymore. Even VVD looks like he could give 2 fricks less.

We needed it. And it looks like we'll have off next weekend as well.

Now if only we didn't have to lose to Ajax between those two.

Of all of our backups, Tsimikas is the least I'm worried about. This isn't the end of the world especially with the international break coming up.

Yeah, we have a good back up, as others pointed out. Plus if it had to happen, now is the perfect time. Couple of week break due to queen, etc. So he'll miss less games than almost any other point in the year.

We looked worlds better today. Couldn't finish, but it was nice to see us actually run and put a shift in again.

Healthy Thiago makes such a difference. Sadly it’s inevitable he’ll miss a decent run of games multiple more times this season

Pretty crazy that they will have gone about a month since their last premier league game when their next game rolls around in October.
