Liverpool and Wrexham kick at 730p EST in Yankee Stadium tonight. Game televised on ESPN +. Does Chiesa start in the #9 position ?

LW & RW - Rio will be just fine, Need to get Barcola
RB - Bradley needs to be healthy, have no idea what their plan is with Frimpong but he's not a RB. There's been talks about getting Spence from Tottenham.
CB - I think they should just go get a veteran guy for cheap and hope that Leoni and Jaquet make a push to be a full time starter. John Stones would be ideal but he seems to be going to Inter. There's also Quansah hanging out there at Leverkusen. Would cost $70M to bring him back now instead of waiting a year to get him back at $52M. Leverkusen paid $35M for him. If they want to spend money at CB, then they should go get James Hill from Bournemouth, but that's unlikely. Konsa is more attainable from Villa.

We have no DM and our midfield was run over so many times last year... we have never replaced Fabinho!!

If VVD gets injured we are genuinely fricked

I agree.. DM, CB, RB, RW, LW... I'd love to see a #9 on loan since Isak is our only one while Hugo is out...

While true isn’t our system with a double pivot? Grav should excel as one. We need another but we do have bodies.

For CB we literally had a youth LB playing CB for the first time yesterday for 75 minutes. One injury to anyone, especially VVD who has played a shite ton of games this last year and we are screwed

Gravenberch has been a pretty good signing in his place. He's only 24 and just now entering his prime. I think he has a huge bounce back season.

I think Grav can be very good in the right system but he’s not a true DM like TFTC is talking about. He did a fine job in 2024-25 when we won the title but still. There’s a reason that the peak of our success under Klopp was when we had Fabinho (and same regarding City and Rodri)

An elite #6 is just a massive difference maker in today’s game

Unfortunately everybody knows that so they are very hard to come by and if they are for sale, every elite team will be going after them

Looks like we've started talking to Gilberto Mora, the 17 year old from Mexico. I really liked the way he played in the World Cup. He can't go anywhere until he's 18, but every big club is talking to him.

Saw some reports about targeting Kaishu Sano, japanese defensive midfielder. Played at Mainz the last 2 years.

also looks like some initial discussions have been had with Fikayo Tomori, CB from AC Milan

Preseason friendly available on ESPN Plus Liverpool versus Leeds that Soldier Field halftime 2-0 reds. Goals from Luke Chambers and Florian Wirtz.

Blowing two goal lead is never a good thing. Mama is not it. Becker better not get hurt

Glad I missed yesterday’s game

Starting to panic about the state of the roster. Our depth is an absolute joke compared to other top teams

Even if we buy an attacker, rb, and cb (which are musts and not wants) we still don’t really have much depth

I realize it can’t be fixed this window but frustrating that it seems like since the Klopp years we’ve been talking about the lack of cb depth. Selling Quansah was a mistake. Especially since he can cover rb

I went yesterday and it was a fun first half... second half, not so much..

I'm not sure Mama was at fault for any of the goals, but his distribution blows...

Serious smoke with Gakpo and Spurs. Maybe more of a midyear January deal than one that happens this week.

I think they want to move Gakpo if they are going to get near the asking price for Barcola and actually bring him in.

Only chance we sell him is if we have a replacement lined up beforehand (someone else in addition to Barcola)

Speaking of which, how would you fellas feel about losing him? Glad or sad? Spurs fans seem to be divided on it.

I don’t want to lose him simply bc we are already so thin in terms of squad depth

He was not good for most of last season and he got a ton of noise from the fan base because of it, but truth is I think everyone besides Dom was pretty awful last year. Between Slot losing his ability to manage and Jota’s passing, I think it’s pretty unfair to base much off of last season

With that said, if we somehow got Spurs to spend 70m on Gakpo and we used that money to replace him with another winger, I think most LFC fans would alright with that

Looks like we are also targeting 18 yr old Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG. I think he plays on the right so if I had to guess, the thought would be sell Gakpo, Barcola starts on the left, Munoz and Mbaye on the right

Also seen some mentions of us targeting Ezri Konsa from Villa. Would be a great signing as he can play cb and rb. He’s on the older side (29 I think I saw) but would be a great stopgap while Jacquet and Leoni get settled into the premier league

Barcola, Mbaye, and Konsa is probably gonna cost over 200m. But I suppose if we can sell Gakpo for a hefty fee then that helps

Just a few rumors going around.

quote:

According to reports, England international Djed Spence wants to join Liverpool, while Tottenham Hotspur have set their asking price.

Would love to get Spence, but not sure what the plan would be with Frimpong and always hurt Bradley.

quote:

- Liverpool are considering an approach for Real Madrid defender Raúl Asencio, TEAMtalk reports. Liverpool have reportedly been contacted by the 23-year-old's representatives regarding a deal, but while they are open to a move and Madrid want to move him on, it is believed that Ascencio is keen to stay put at the Bernabéu to fight for his place in Jose Mourinho's squad, despite the coach informing him that he doesn't feature in his plans.

quote:

Liverpool face a key decision over the future of Federico Chiesa amid growing interest from Atletico Madrid.

If you’re not going to play him, and you can make some money off of him, then move him.
