Just watched on DVR. Probably Germans, but Sterling and especially Allen played phenomenally for y'all. Allen looked like Xavi out there. He's going to be a good one.

TFTC, this one is for you

Like you, Michael Owen played an enormous role in me becoming a supporter of Liverpool FC. The only thing that makes me somewhat forgive him going to United, is that his time there has been less than spectacular.

I know, I really wish I could've come. But we didn't have power until this afternoon, so I would've been nursing a hangover in the heat and the dark.

EDIT: Just saw that the homo was real. I'm telling the Arsenal girl in the back of the cab on that FSC commercial.

Seriously. I don't fricking get why these delusional people really expected us to be world beaters over night. The sad thing is that I was always told that Liverpool supporters are the most football knowledgeable fans on the island. This ordeal is changing my mind big time. I'm literally speechless at some of the absolute drivel and bullshite I'm reading.

No, he is. But not necessarily that. Just the whole picture in general. It's going to take time to make this work. Its going to take time for these guys to gel. Its going to take time to learn how to translate this possession into scoring.

Its like the fricking zombie apocalypse for these idiots after 3 games.

COMPLETELY REVAMPING A SYSTEM TAKES MORE THAN 3 GAMES.

Not saying he isn't shite, because he has put in some meaningless performances this season, but it doesn't help that Suarez and Gerrard are both out of form as well. It would be one thing if Suarez and Gerrard were both on top of their game, but they aren't. Borini is an easy target because he's unproven in the PL so far. We know what Gerrard and Suarez can achieve, so we are more lenient with them. It's an unavoidable frame of mind, but one that is rather unfair to someone who just finished their 3rd ever match in the PL.

FWIW, Borini had the least touches of any starter on the pitch, so that isn't helping him much either. Also, he has played Arsenal and City in his first 3 PL appearances. If he continues to play like he has come January, I will be worried.

I obviously didn't mean that. The 6 is right under the 9 on the number pad!!

Surprisingly, the douche bag didn't even really address that. His tampon was all red over the fact that i brought up "purposeful possession." What a fair weather idiot.

My match summary (also posted in the Arsenal thread:

Just rewatched the match. Warning: LONG POST!

A few side notes:

Liverpool started off really well. They did a good job in tight spaces, and worked the ball to the forwards. I thought they were the better side in the first-half, but a goal was never going to come. They also played exceptionally well (maybe the best I've seen) out of the back.

Arsenal maintained their shape throughout the whole match, and really took advantage of LFC's spacing. They were the better side and deserved 3 points. A goal from Liverpool simply wasn't going to come.

Liverpool's pressing was very good. Arsenal's back line had multiple panicked passes and forced long balls that won possession back for Liverpool. Mannone really struggled when the ball was played back to him. A better side probably would have done better with those chances.

Gerrard was horrible. Absolutely horrible. Our offense is really supposed to flow through him so I give him a lot of the blame. Really wasteful.

Suarez was also bad. He wasn't himself on the ball.

Borini is not a wide player. It's frustrating to watch, but I'd rather Downing on the right if Rodgers isn't going to play Borini in the center. He simply can't create space for himself.

Sterling did well on his shot off the post. Good presence of mind to take the ball outside and then get a shot off. Borini made a good effort to keep that ball in play and LFC came close to converting on it.

Joe Allen and Arteta are brilliant. Simple as that.

Sahin definitely wasn't bad, actually one of our better passers on the match, but he looked confused. I'm not sure he had a clear role, or if he did, knew what it was. His defensive efforts were bad, and he made no attempt to hustle back in defense on Arsenal's counters.

Even more unimpressed with Giroud and I watched him every time Arsenal had possession. Only a few times did his movement really impress me, and his immobility really stood out to me. Skrtel beat him in a dead sprint a couple of times. There were a handful of plays where he literally stood still in the box on a cross, no back post or near post run. I certainly won't write him off this early, but he has me worried (especially since he is on my fantasy team). He pulled Agger across goal a few times, either giving another player a look at goal or opening up a diagonal run behind the defence. He did well on a counter to draw Agger wide before cutting back in, allowing Diaby to play him through but he couldn't get his foot around the ball. He also looks really strange when he runs

Podolski impressed me on his goal. Led the counter and then beat Glen Johnson in a sprint from midfield to claim his prize. Rodgers' system creates so much space on the pitch and Arsenal took advantage of that very well. He also did well defensively.

Diaby was MOTM for me. Very composed on the ball and even putting in a good defensive shift when needed.

Cazorla is the real deal. How many times have I said that now? Really would have loved to have seen him paired with RVP.

Per played well too. He had a couple poor passes, but was solid defensively. That yellow card was very harsh, and there were several fouls in the match that were worse than that one (2 by Vermaelen).

I loved seeing the couple of battles between Ox and Sterling..the future of England. In 5-10 years I will remember watching those challenges as they play in World Cups.

Couldn't agree more. I'm excited that we have owners that hold the ideals this club was founded on, and operated under, so close to their hearts. It'll be a rough road, but it'll be worth it in the end.
