I'm curious as to what the hiring of Rodgers will mean for Andy Carroll's role. One of the best things I thought he did towards the end of the season was win the long balls and head it on to players making a run on the wing. If we abandon the long ball strategy (which I personally have no problem with) does that diminish his worth to the team?

It seems like he doesnt fit his tactics... As much as I like Andy and think he is going to eventually be a 15-20 goal/yr striker... I would love to see him have a great Euro and us be able to get a good price for him and let Brendan get the striker he wants...
Who knows, maybe he's in the gaffers plans...

Carroll is pretty good with the ball at his feet, and I think he could be of use with his back to the goal. Not sure why we want to sell so quickly on him.

I havent really followed his career, but I find it amazing that he cant get a game at tottenham... When ive watched him play the USA he has shown some great attacking skills...

Shocking decision IMO. I'd even go Micah Richards over Ferdy and Kelly, but I'd still call Ferdy up before Kelly...

I'm guessing Roy is trying to avoid the Terry/Ferdinand issue... I'm also guessing he went with his familiarity with Kelly over Richards (because they are both versatile)...
Honestly, in the future, I see a Kelly converting to CB and posing a great partnership with Coates... I know many LFC supporters disagree, but with his hamstring issues, he doesnt need to make all those bombing runs forward...
