Can someone explain the TAA hatred to me? I looked earlier but don’t know it as a non-Liverpool fan. I don’t really understand it and thought this was the best place to ask

It’s not hatred, first of all. He’s been at the club for something like 20 years. He’s been a pivotal part of all the recent success. He’s scouse. There are going to be feelings when he leaves on a free transfer that he obviously had planned for a while now. I don’t understand why people have a hard time understanding the situation.

It's not that he's leaving, its's how he left... he let his contract run down with no intent of ever resigning (we offered him a very good deal)... instead pocketing a big signing on fee from RM... If he really wanted to go to RM, he could have re-upped in good faith that we'd sell him...
We should have received £70mm + for his transfer... in the days of PSR, that's huge and pure profit...
Add in he's a local kid and it's seen as the ultimate betrayal..
For the record, I don't hate him... but he's gone down a lot in my book and I won't be pulling for him like I do most former reds..

I thought it was pretty damn cool. Especially since all the players had their kids with them. Great lesson in sportsmanship and what respecting the game and your opponent is all about. Online Eurotrash doesn't understand that but people who played meaningful games on the pitch do. These teams will meet again in August for the Shield. Hopefully Palace doesn't go trophyless for ~165 years only to win their second from us at Wembley in under 4 months. Slott should still have bad memories from the Carabao Final loss fresh on his mind. He'll have the team ready and motivated to climb the stairs in August.
