I don't think you understand how the world views America. It doesn't really matter how they act on the field, the world will still hate them. Simple as that. If Landon wants to show emotion, celebrate, or enjoy himself on the pitch, who gives a crap? Good for him for helping the US soccer program reach a higher level. But his actions are not trashing the respect they have already earned.

People assumed, due to where I went to school, and my English, certain things. I neither confirmed nor refuted them.

I really don't get your posts these last few weeks.
The guy is having shite thrown at him by opposing fans. What the hell is he supposed to do? You have this expectation of American soccer players to be emotionless automatons who never react to anything, whether it is scoring a goal or getting fouled or having shite thrown at their faces. on the other hand, you want to give Spanish players gold watches for not murdering refs or raping the refs' daughters.
I don't see how any reasonable person could have even the mildest issue with Landon's behavior in the Gold Cup. Ugly, counter-productive posturing? You realize you're blaming a guy for having shite thrown at his head, right? And for not holding his head in shame after scoring a penalty? Do you realize how idiotic that comes across?
Spain's team is generally one of the cleaner sides in the world, outside of a couple of players. Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc, etc are all fine players, but if you were to hold all of the Spanish star players to the same standard you hold Americans, you'd have died long before you signed up for this board because Busquets would have built up so much self-shame that you would have committed hara kiri after any one of his games.
Outside of Jermaine Jones, the US team has so few players with any cocksucker traits. It's one reason why we repeatedly get hosed by the refs in game after game. The refs know that the AMerican players aren't going to bully them, fans aren't going to try to beat up the ref after the game, etc., so they don't have that kind of pressure to make favorable calls.
That's one reason why fans are glad to see guys standing up for themselves like in this incident, Dempsey against Jamaica, etc.
