On the pro El Salvador crowd
quote:

"My experience in these games is they show up with their El Salvador jersey on and once we score a few goals they rip it off and have a USA jersey on."

Sociopolitical diatribe for yáll.

That he is the dean emeritus, and first serious ambasssador of US soccer worldwide, is important.

He is respected around the world, well maybe sometime ago, but very respected.

That our side has historically represented what are considered core values of this country, when playing, has also drawn the admiration from the footballing world.

That said, these things, ugly posturing, which is how it is or would be viewed, are counterproductive.

I know people think it´s tongue in cheek and hilarious, but it´s not perceived that way.

His fist pumping after a fricking PK, against fricking Cuba, sends the wrong message as well. Even though his intentions may have been, and probably were, to fire up the side as a whole.

He is an ambassador of a nation which has been earning respect, and doesn´t need to trash said respect, before anything meaningful is accomplished.

My tirade? Maybe, but some of us have to live with this shite. Maybe not in this precise moment physically, but normally, and at the moment, via internet and Skype.

Really.

USA basketball can posture all it wants. The game was invented here, and there is a historical supremacy.

US Soccer, simply, has performed admirably, and is on the radar.

I am choffed, as we all are, but, I know what signals are being sent and perceived, inadvertently or not.

end rant from the footballing world.

Debbie Downer, maybe I am. But I´m tellin´ya.

board spokesman of the footballing world, everybody.

How does it make you feel when Iniesta rolls around on the ground for 15 minutes after the slightest bit of contact. Or when David Villa takes a dive in the penalty area after he miscontrols a ball.

Or when all 11 Spanish players surround the referee with malicious intent when a throw in doesn't go their way.

Jesus christ, you are terrible.

Firstly, Landon crossed that bridge a long time ago. Secondly, the world tolerates that fricking cocksucker Zlatan. They can deal with Landon Donovan.

But when Landy dives, it´s OK. Happened very recently.

Hypocrisy.

My least favorite thing about Spanish soccer

Much less prevalent than previously, and we all know it.

Defensive? Yeah, I am, because everyone sees things the way they want to see them. Myself included, of course.

I'm meh on that aspect, I mean they are just trying to win. I only get annoyed when they all good and well know it wasn't a foul and try to alter the course of the game with a ticky tack call that in reality they don't need to win the game.
