The haters are cautiously silent just now, anxiously awaiting the slightest slip up on the part of this team and their manager.
Nah. I am still adamant in my beliefs and nothing has changed them. However, I want the US to go as far as possible. I am obviously rooting for my team. I just dislike the coach for his decisions over the years, most notably picking his 23.

Anyone who felt comfortable or pleased watching Wondo warm up in the moments after the Dempsey injury, knowing he was essentially our only attacking option left, is a moron.

Even if it were Landon warming up I would feel uncomfortable.

I also don't understand why we had to only bring four forwards when we could have dropped Yedlin for Donovan and not really lost anything on defense.

It is certainly strange to bring four forwards when two of them are guaranteed starters.

Yeah, I mentioned that the other day. I have no problem with four forwards if we operate almost exclusively with a lone striker, but almost all of our forwards prefer to be paired with someone else up front.

It doesnt matter. If Altidore goes down the formation changes. come on fellas.
Posted on 6/18/14 at 6:35 pm to kilo
Of course it changes. But the only attacking options are Wondo and Johansson. The next most offensive player is either a guy who isn't really offensive (Zusi or Mix) or an 18 year-old.

Even with Altidore around, Donovan gave the team way more flexibility up front and in the midfield. He could be a second striker, played on either side, or even behind Jozy. He is probably our most versatile attacker and he is one of very few USA players ever to be world class in certain attributes.

Honestly, I'm ecstatic with the Ghana result, but we are still far from advancing.
Portugal is gonna be a really really tough match that will mean a LOT for both sides.. And really, it will be an enormous task to even get a result against Germany.

We win all three because... America.

Klinsmann will have a little German speech with Low before the match if a draw is needed for both sides.

Agreed.

La di da
Landon gets better every day he isn't on the team.

Nah, I have never changed my stance on that. I have been on Donovan's dick since day one. None of those statements I have made are new.

I broke my "no going to TigerDroppins during games" rule and wrote a long arse post about eating crow and that Landon should be there after Jozy went down. I didn't hit submit, though.
Landon should be here, in almost all of our opinions. Just not Jurgen's, and I defer to him.
But shite if I didn't curse Jurgen when Jozy went down.

With Fabian, Timmy, and Cameron all options at RB, I tend to agree.
Brad Davis won't see the field, either.
Those are probably the only two guys we coulda left, though. Wondo, maybe, but I love Wondo. I was a Quakes fan when he broke out. I think he's made of goals.

The only thing tangible about this thread is the lengths to which some will go in attempts to convince themselves that we are a better team with Donovan gone.
Its all quite silly and, frankly, pedestrian.
