In Brad Evans' interview, it sounded like Jurgen called him in and said you're not making the cut, bye. Seemed pretty blunt by what he said.

Well no shite Brad Evans wasn't going to make a cut considering that apparently he was playing fricking centerback in camp.

I'm not a big Clarence Goodson fan but I mean he deserves to know what he could have done better or differently.

While I agree, I didn't make a team and the coach just said I wasn't good enough. He didn't give me an explanation on what I could work on. So this isn't unheard of on any level of sports.

Well that's just pure speculation

As opposed to what? People have been assuming the worst about this whole situation from the start.

Now y'all are complaining about Goodson? Wow.

I don't think Goodson went to the press as much as they probably came to him after an earthquakes training.

Saying klinsmann gave Goodson an answer he didn't like is just starting a rumor. If Goodson said jurgen didn't give him a reason I have to believe him until jurgen disputes it and then it just turns into he said she said. If that happens just washing my hands of all this shite as not saying anything until we play Ghana.

Nobody is complaining about Goodson not making the roster. Some thought he would, but nobody is complaining about it.

was it the world cup team that you spent your whole life working for and your entire livelihood is based off of the sport?

Did you care enough to ask? If so and he refused to give you feedback then he's probably a crappy coach and/or a crappy person.

If you didn't care enough to ask you didn't deserve an explanation.

Well some coaches are assholes and some are not. This shouldn't be a mystery. This certain coach was an a-hole, a British arse hole that just calls kids wankers. Yet the guys teams were very successful.

Either get behind jurgen or don't. But it seems people are going to whine about everything he does now. I'll let y'all in on a lil secret, if we don't make it out of the group, its because Portugal and Germany just have better players. Pretty simple, we are a ling shot to get out regardless of the coach and who he selects.?

You're missing literally the entire point.

Anyone who's ever played soccer has dreamed of playing for their country. To get that close and not make it with no explanation is fricked up.

It's got nothing to do with money.

DeAndre Yedlin made $92K (on a $76K salary) for getting selected.

The poster said livelihood. Id assume he meant his ability to make money and provide for himself or family. So really his dreams were crushed, not his livelihood. Because he will still get paid playing club soccer. There are thousand of kids playing soccer in the us that will never don the red white and blue. He actually has and his fulfilled a dream most of us will never even have the opportunity to do.

I'm not understanding this. The US is paying him, or his club?

I said I agree that he should get an explanation, just that not every coach will do that, some are arse holes, have a big ego. Then posters started attacking me because they have shite reading comprehension.

Its a great honor no doubt, but he won't be the only one at home. I don't really feel bad for him. He's already living the dream. Him not making the squad has no bearing on his livelihood though.
