As much as I'd love for this to be true, getting to the semis of the Copa basically locked his job up through the 2018 WC. Not sure why he'd leave that job security.

Breaking news: The Jurgen deal is all but done. The deal hinges upon Southampton signing Wondo.

I have absolutely no idea why Southampton would want to do this

He probably told his agent to call around before the Costa Rica game.

1. Klinsmann to Saints.
2. Bielsa to USA
3. ????? (leading to an inevitable falling out with USSF following the World Cup)

This is bad. Klinsmann needs to stay.. trust the process

Shouldn't you people explain beyond a reasonable doubt why you won't trust the process?

Intellectually lazy cowards.

I don't think it matters who the coach is until the US figures out a way to attract young talented players to the game and identify, evaluate and develop them

. I just assumed that you've been watching us almost not qualify for the World Cup, and constantly come out in big games with one or two arms tied behind our backs by playing crap line ups and tactics. The lack of any meaningful progress despite a deeper talent pool. Sorry just assumed you were paying attention to apparent lack of any process.

Reddit soccer fans are fricking stupid. The top comment on the Klinsmann thread -

quote:

For those who want Klinsmann out of the position will regret it. Done amazing things for the country and the team. Brought in youth, changed the way the country is looking at the academy system. Also he just took the US to the Semis of Copa America.
Also if he leaves who is taking the Job next?

He's not popular among the sort of kids and knuckleheads in this group whose memories only go back to the 2014 World Cup, it's true.
Among people who have been following the US program for a long time, there is some slight dissatisfaction, but only the truly delusional are calling for his head.

This is the 2nd time in the last few months that we've heard Jurgy's name pop up for a coaching vacancy. That has to mean that he is actively looking, right?

RIGHT???
