I personally feel offended that anyone is denying Beniesta's commitment to leading the stars and stripes to the promised land.

Our central defense situation has surely gone from terrible to pretty solid.

Our Central defense situation is fine.

Between Besler, Gonzales, Cameron, and Goodson we have a couple decent players. I have a tough time imagining that John Anthony Brooks will provide anything more than depth at this point in time. He could take Gonzo's spot, though I guess.

Goodson sucks. I've never seen a centerback ball watch as much as him. It's a shame, he could be pretty good. Gonzalez is still pretty inconsistent. He has enormous potential though. You can never have too many center backs.

Yeah I'm not worried about it now but it wasn't too long ago that Goodson was a starter. Thankfully now Besler and Gonzo have emerged and now JAB will add some depth to that.

That was scary. I have to imagine he's #4 on the depth chart, so all is right with the world.

You do have to like what Goodson brings forward, though. He's a scorer in the Bocanegra mold, and he distributes pretty well out of the back.

That said, I don't want him protecting Howard in the world cup final.

FWIW, there are tons of examples of native Brazilians representing EU countries w/ no ethnic ties: Deco, Marcos Senna, Eduardo, etc.

JAB has the potential to be everything that Gooch was supposed to be for the USMNT.

JaB will be starting in the Bundesliga at an age when Gooch was competing in the ACC(Atlantic Coastal Conference).

Do you guys think that Klinsmann will call in MLS and Mexico-based players for the Bosnia game? Seems kind of ridiculous for one game that isn't meaningful, especially since we've played so much more recently than most national teams and there's no reason to jet lag guys in MLS for a friendly 10 hours away from US soil.

The only problem with that is it leaves the team without much depth wide in midfield and in central defense, where Onyewu is basically the only guy still playing abroad besides Parkhurst. This could be a good opportunity to get JAB comfortable with the US players and also avoid calling Besler/Omar/Goodsen for a meaningless game.

Start Cameron and JAB with Onyewu off the bench, imo. The rest of the team has plenty of options although we might have to start Bedoya as a winger.

I think it will be almost all euro based players. 4 or 5 North American guys, max.

---------------Altidore-----------------
Dempsey----Stu----F. Johnson
----------Bradley--Jones------------
Chandler-JaB-Cameron-Cherundolo
--------------Howard------------------

there's an attempt at a euro based starting 11

Safe to say that the friendly will consists almost solely of European league players considering the game is in Bosnia.

Slight chance you see guys like Tim Ream, maybe even Eric Lichaj called into the squad.

Yes. He will do it longer, and I shouldn't have put a ceiling on his potential like that. I just remember Gooch going from exciting player with tons of potential to nothing (due to the injury in D.C.). We need a powerful presence who can cause havoc in both boxes on corners.

I'd be perfectly fine with JAB, Onyewu, Cameron, and Ream as the guys called in.
