Yanks Abroad
Our central defense situation has surely gone from terrible to pretty solid.

It appears as if Jurgen Klinsmann will receive a major boost to the backline as John Anthony Brooks looks set to join the U.S team for the Bosnia game.

a friendly wont tie him to us though right?

No but a few weeks after that friendly are a couple of WCQs so hopefully he'll get called in for those two right after.

Do we know that he will accept?

The article and other tweets I've read make it sound like he's been called in and accepted.

if Hertha was still in the 2nd division i think he would be a lock

Hell yes
He's been labeled as a "program changer" before, still raw in some aspects of his game but has an undeniably high ceiling for his talent.

Win Costa Rica game 3-1, cap his arse with an 89th minute sub.

Once we've secured a spot in Brazil, we need to just cap tie every player we want with dual citizenship remaining games. This list includes but is not limited to JAB, Julian Green, and Ben Lederman.

That Ron Paul gif is fantastic.

I don't think Beniesta has any dual citizenship.

nah virtually impossible, European citizenship laws esp in places like Italy and Spain are strict.

I don't know if he had any interest, but hasn't Messi lived in Spain practically his whole life?

I think he headed over there around the same age as Beniesta.

Germany could use another center back so frick yeah. Cap tie him before he breaks out

IIRC, La Liga has some pretty stringent rules on foreign (non-EU) players. So, I'm sure that Messi has his Spanish citizenship (and probably walked into it because he's from Argentina).
Thiago might be an interesting comparison, but I'm not sure.
