I think they will if they qualify for the hex.

Llanez got brought in to the January camp. Gregg courted and locked down Dest. I’m not sure who deserves a call up who hasn’t gotten one lately. I’m pretty sure chandler gets called up in March.

I was trying to convey that the current talent eval plan, if there is one, doesn’t seem to have a rhyme or reason behind it.

They won't... we kind of fricked them up by beating them that last time.

What do you think we should be doing?

They have a good shot.

The last ranking was in December. They were only 15 points behind El Salvador. Since then, Canada has beaten Barbados twice and lost to Iceland. El Salvador has only lost to Iceland. So Canada has closed the gap a bit already.

Yeah, I didn't really understand the point?

What talent have we missed on in the last year? There hasn't been a player/prospect that I feel like Sarachen/Gregg have outright ignored like Jurgen often did.

Granted, WCQ's haven't begun yet so the last two years of friendlies and glorified friendlies (Gold Cup, Nations League) have allowed the program to be very liberal with the call-ups.

Apologies boys. Out of pocket for a while there...

I am more frustrated that we hang commuted to a set, or near-set, lineup of 11-14 guys that are THE typical starting lineup. We are cycling the young guns in and out, sometimes asking different things of them, and not seeming to build chemistry in the process.

Tyler Boyd has flashed promise in his few starts/appearances, but has sat the bench and not been out in positions that can help the attack unfold.

The interchanging of so many CBS is another thing that really has had me chapped. Cycling Miazga/Long/et al and moving in and out of a three man or four man back line philosophy.

I guess it isn’t really that I’m upset at the call ups (although there doesn’t seem to be a philosophy behind why they call who up). It’s more that Gregg pimped his style of play changes and identity when he came in, and here we are however many months later still not even with a known core to who we put on the field.

Call ups have a little to do with that. Injuries affect the call ups. I just don’t think constantly putting different guys out there in different lineups is going to help build chemistry, nor will it build an identity within this squad.

That’s just my opinion.

So you want a set group of guys to start or not?

Not trying to be a dick, just genuinely confused because you're implying two completely opposite things.

Boyd looked good in his first game and maybe the second, but has been pretty forgettable in every one since.

Sorry, I got autocorrected and didn’t realize.

I really am frustrated with the fact that on a game to game basis we have no real idea of who our best XI are.

And pville, he did disappear at times, but he has shown the ability to create chances by tight space passing as well as individual creation from the edge of and outside the box. I see those as things that have been missing from our squad that make it dynamic. Dest does the same type of stuff, but he has already secured the RB position moving forward it seems.

I think our inability to find talent that consistently performs on the MNT is directly related to the ever-changing lineup around those guys who need time and chemistry to develop.

Dest and Cannon are your outside backs moving forward, pick which sides you want them on, I don’t particularly care

Soccer's resident dickhead (literally and figuratively) Grant Wahl just posted a pretty good interview with Jermaine. As usual it's chocked full of him saying what everyone outside of US soccer is saying, which is fantastic.
