I've been patient with jurgen. Made excuse after excuse for him. Tried my best to understand just about every decision.
No more. Tired of this stupid shite. There's literally zero excuse to play the way we have since the World Cup. It's time to cut ties and move on.

He lost the team not long after the World Cup I think. He may have only ever had them on his side because it was the World Cup.
He keeps making the same player selection mistakes and for a long time running, he can't even get decent performances from the proven players he does have.
He should absolutely be fired as long as they can find someone decent to replace him. Even if not, at this point you've got to have very little confidence we can qualify, so why keep him around.
Fire the man.

I have always liked Kreis, but do we think he has done enough to warrant the job? Is he really our guy?

At this point, the core squad is on a rapidly downward spiral. Why not use someone to bring up the young players and then hand the reins to an established manager when the young core is more experienced. Face it, we are in a lost cycle for 2018. It ain't pretty.

I think Porter would be a really, really good USMNT coach sometime in the future. Don't know if they'd pull the trigger on him now, but I like the way his Portland teams play. He used to be all about possession, but there's more of an emphasis on speed, strength, and blitzing counter attacks now. That fits our M.O. on a world stage.

What I like about Caleb Porter is he is tactically flexible. Fits style of play to personnel. And he's smart. And he made Pep Guardiola his bitch.

I have been in the same boat in the past. I have been reasonable with my expectations because i still think there is an overvaluation of the player pool talent by some in the fan base, however, when you lose the team you lose the team and there is no coming back from that. There just isnt any real example when a managers message had become stale of them rebounding.
There have been rough periods before, last cycle going into the hex this team was lost, but for whatever reason he doesnt have the confidence of the players any longer and that is not ok.
I am officially on the "time to move on Jurgen" bandwagon.
Im not releasing the players from blame for recent form because to blame it all on jurgen is foolish. You cant have the combination of a stubborn manager and a player pool tired of him. You cant fire and replace your player pool but you can move to fix the manager variable and hope for the best.

Is there still time to reverse his whole birth year initiative? Not sure when U.S. Soccer will realize that they will alway be sucking hind tit as long as American football is around. I wonder if they did their homework on how many young players will now not play, b/c they can't play with their classmates? I love the excuse that he did it to fall in line with the rest of the world. Hell, MLS can't even run the same season as the rest of the world b/c they know they would be out of business if they went up against football. The whole birth year deal and the way it is being implimented is not going to one of his more brilliant ideas.

Also, weather is a big reason for the schedule being like it is. You can't play games in Toronto and Chicago in the dead of winter. That's why Scandinavia plays using the same calendar that we do.

The basic explanation was so that it would be easier for US Soccer to identify potential players for national team and that the US would be aligned with rest of world. Problem I see is that soccer in the US will never reach the popularity of the rest of the world b/c it will always be way down the list when compared to football, baseball, and basketball. The whole identifying potential national team players is also not necessarily valid either. ODP teams already are determined by birth year. Plus, the women's side seems to have done just fine with the way the current system is run. It's the men that simply can't keep up with the rest of the world. I just think they were very short sighted when they decided to switch to this format. I don't think it is going to bring more kids into soccer, if anything, you will now have a situation where classmates, at an early age, don't even give soccer a chance b/c they can't play on the same team as their classmate. That's just my .02. I think US Soccer was pretty dumb to hand over the keys to the entire program to Klings. Now where is US Soccer? They've given him free reign and have gone ahead and started to impliment everything he wants and the dude is barely hanging on to his job.
