So why will it decrease participation? Why can't kids play with their friends? Because of the birth year cutoff? Also, more kids play youth soccer than any other sport. The popularity of baseball is declining, and with the concussion issues facing football, one can assume that soccer will continue to gain popularity as parents push their kids into a less TBI prone sport.

US women's soccer gets nothing in support compared to what the men get. Yes, nobody gives a shite about women's soccer, however, if it wasn't for the women, no average sports fan would even talk about US Soccer. The return on investment for the men has been hot garbage when compared to the return on investment on the women.

Not nearly as lopsided as it once was.
However, unlike the men ... the collegiate system is a huge help in the women's game.
