If you want throw out a city, I don't care, that discussion has been hashed to death....

I want to know, what name could be used to best click with locals and the region as a whole, develop a following, be the "south's team" and look good on the national stage... and possibly the world stage.

When FIFA 07 started doing the create a team, I'd always make one from Atlanta, NOLA or someplace and call them, the Rebellion and replace whatever MLS team was pissing me off that year.

Terrible, just terrible. For the love of God, can it have nothing to do with the Civil War?

I have said before a couple times, but The South Will Rise Again FC.

Bring in JK as the head coach and have a supporters group be Klinsmann's Klansmen. That may not go over so well.

Another supporters group could all wear Confederate soldier uniforms and re-enact Civil War battles with tifos.

You'd think that it happened yesterday, or at least within the last 100 years.

Only the battles won by the Confederacy, I hope.

Although that wasn't an original thought, your posts have been inferior. Proud of you for admitting that.

Why do y'all always say this on here? Atlanta is one of the worst sports towns there is. They routinely produce some of the lowest attendance numbers in both MLB and NBA. Last year, the Braves were a serious playoff contender with one of the largest stadiums in the MLB, yet they had attendance below the league average.

Nashville's metro area is only slightly larger than NOLA's, while NOLA has a booming Hispanic population and a lot of youth soccer development. Neither of these two cities could support an MLS right now, though.
