Meh, there's not much else I can really say. Atlanta has poor attendance for its non-NFL sports, and I am unsure as to how NASL numbers truly translate statistically. I think starting an MLS team is extremely challenging to begin with, for any city.
And great, they have an owner and a stadium. So did every failed MLS expansion team. Not sure why you're harping on that as being relevant since that's not what I'm referring to.

pot meet kettle when it comes to ATL and Nola the hornets games have awful #'s and the saints pre 2005 were not exactly packing the house.
I could careless if ATL gets a team but they are clearly the best option in the south.

It's relevant for a freaking bid. Puts you ahead of the other potential cities. Orlando City has plans, but their stadium hit a rough patch with legislation. Again, I'm talking about the bid.
No one knows for sure how the turnout will be, but the Sounders had lower numbers before they made their MLS move than Atlanta has now. Then they go to MLS and the attendance explodes.
I think with all of the factors lined up, it appears that Atlanta would look more like the 19 current MLS franchises than the two that went under in the Dark Ages.
As for the crappy sports town problem...Atlanta draws more than Kansas City in MLB and NFL, and Sporting Kansas City sells out their stadium a good bit. Now, the Falcons/Braves > Chiefs/Royals...so that makes a difference. Still, Atlanta wouldn't be the "worst" sports town in terms of attendance with a MLS team.

New Orleans has been right in line with Atlanta for quality vs. attendance with 1/5 of the population.
While I'm a fan of New Orleans teams, etc. I'm not some diehard NOLA clown FWIW.

My wish would be Nashville. They do well in supporting hockey and its a great city to visit and bar hop. It's just a wish though. I don't know if it would be successfull but I would hit up a handful of games every year.
And as to the original question, something whiskey themed. Distillers, bootleggers, moonshiners etc. I know those aren't really pc but new franchise names are almost always terrible theses days.

Whatever, man. I think Atlanta is a good spot for MLS expansion for several reasons, and you know that it will fail because it's Atlanta. Nothing's gonna change that.
A lot more factors go into the success/failure of an expansion team, but I think the factors we can see right now point to a favorable outlook for Atlanta and MLS. I can't say for sure that it'll be a roaring success. I can say that it looks like a good expansion city compared to the others.

And I know you're not a NOLA nut or whatever, but I think the city would do well for a second or third-tier team. The market size is just too small for MLS to take a look.

Both Atlanta and Nashville would be a good addition. I'd be fine if neither team had a real "name" outside of Atlanta FC or the like. We don't need a name like the "Galaxy". A secondary name will come just through experience.

Eh, that is somewhat hard to compare. Arrowhead has ~6k more seats than the Georgia Dome. Also, KC used to pack Arrowhead but recently it has dwindled with the lack of success of the team. Meanwhile the Falcons attendance has risen recently with the success of the team.
And as for the Royals, Kauffman has a lot less seats than Turner Field and the Braves are a lot more successful so no arguments there.
Btw SKC averages about 19,400 while Sporting Park holds about 18,400, so they sell it out more often than "a good bit"
ETA: I think Atlanta will be a good MLS market in a few years, but just wanted to point that stuff out
