On the spot.

We are in the group of death, and it isn't reasonable to expect the US to come out in the top 2, by any means. However, Klinsmann just made this entire World Cup about himself and not the US.

frick that guy. Seriously, frick anyone who thinks Brad Davis, DeAndre Yedlin, John Anthony Brooks, Chris Wondolowski, or a guy who tried to do everything in his power to not play for the US deserved a spot over Landon.

fricking ridiculous.

Do people not realize what Landon did for the USMNT after his hiatus? He came back refreshed after playing basically 12 years of non-stop soccer, and looked better than he did in several years.

LOL at anyone questioning Donovan's dedication for taking a break after 12 years playing for the USMNT non-stop and capping about 145 times by the time he was 30.

If this roster is so forward thinking then why wondo over Boyd?

Yeah, I don't see how specifically leaving Donovan out has anything to do with looking toward the future when his spot goes to Brad Davis who I think is even older.

A new day has begun boys!

I'm excited to be moving forward w a new look for the good ole U S of A!

We'll do very well in Brasil. He made it a point that while we might not have the most talent, we will be in the best shape. This move proves that he meant what he said, and I'm sure landy saw the writing on the wall.

In Klinsman I trust.

This is a move that throws away the whole cycle.

Why are we so upset about a guy who said he's not even sure he likes soccer anymore? Or the guy who said on a Documentary last week that he couldn't go 100% all of the time anymore. Props to Jurgy for having the balls to cut him. It also probably woke the rest of the team up. Go 100% all of the time or you won't play. PERIOD.

Jürgen Klinsmann left Landon Donovon off the U.S. World Cup team...Time for Americans to act like they understand soccer.

I liked the old days when we had at least one borderline world class talent in the attack.

Because he might actually still be able to play soccer

Less about that than about being out of shape right now.

In case we forgot, we got really good while Landon was out.

If a guy gets 6 goals and 7 assists in 8 games after saying he's not sure if he likes soccer anymore, I don't really care. This is the type of logic that leads to people wanting Tebow to be a first rounder because he's a winner who just finds a way to win. It's motivational bullshite and nothing more.

I guarantee you Zidane couldn't go 100% all the time in 2006. Or Figo in 2004. Or any of the Croatian soccer players in 1998 who smoked 20 Marlboro Reds a day and could barely cover 5 kilometers in a game. But they had skill and intelligence on the field. That's what matters more than running like a headless chicken or showing a couple of decent moves in the German 4th division.

Wut? Did you watch Beasley during qualifying? And do you know how thin we are at LB? And now LM with no Landon.
