How fantastic has Beasley been for us?

He has made no critical errors for us. I'm shocked. I really thought we were screwed if we started him in Brazil, considering all of the speed in the group.
He has been extremely solid.

What? Even at his age, he's still one of our fastest players.
But I agree I was/am a little worried. He seems to get beat a lot, but not for lack of speed.

He did give Ronaldo too much space, but closed down really well. Not much he could have done on the cross.

I picked Beasley for my WC fantasy team. I think he got abused early in the Ghana game but played much better as the game went on. I think he played a pretty solid game versus Portugal.
edit: I've said this for a while, I don't think we have anyone better than him to play that position so I'm happy he is playing.

He was not fantastic in the Ghana game. But he played very well vs. Portugal.

don't think he played poorly though. We were under assault for 60+ minutes of that game granted this assessment is based more on team defending rather than his individual effort

i thought he was terrible against ghana. i thought he was great against portugal.

He was on the back foot early against Ghana, but his task was tough.
He's been superb.

He played his arse off against Ghana. He was a little shaky a couple times early, but he had the hardest job on the team, IMO, and didn't make any costly mistakes.

He didn't make any major errors vs Ghana but he had several WTF moments that didn't materialize into a goal for them.
He was superb vs Portugal.

he looked very good vs Portugal. Which I was thrilled to see because he struggled vs Ghana.

BUMP
Just wanted to point out that Beasley played a very good game today. After the first half of Ghana he has been pretty solid and has been a very important piece to this team.

He's really rejuvenated his career with this move. If he hadnt accepted his new role or hadn't transitioned so well there's no way he would have made the squad. I'm really happy for him that's he's playing so well. Not to mention without him playing so well we would have a downgrade at that spot.

I disagree. If not for Beasley, then Fabian would likely play at his more natural LB. Then Jurgen would have been forced to fix things with Timothy Chandler more quickly. Chandler's issues at LB were not skill or ability. They were lack of chemistry. Without Beasley's great transition, Chandler would be in the squad more, so that chemistry would have been built up by now. Still, I'm glad for DeMarcus that this has worked so well.

He has been one of our top 4 or 5 players.
