what was he thinking
He wasn’t. If you watch the replay he didn’t even see him there. Overall I think he had a very solid tournament.

I forgot was it you or Broski that thought Ream wasn't worth a call up?
Definitely not me.

He's yet to impress me. But hopefully between him, Miles and Richards we get someone that makes "the jump"

Hey hope sprints eternal. Tim Ream conclusively proved this cycle it’s never too late to become what you might have been.

My rotator cuff when I try to throw a fastball disagrees with you.

Tell that to Jon Brooks.

It was me. Glad to be proven wrong.

Aside from Ream I think EPB and Trusty currently play at a higher level than any of our other CBs. They both play in 3 man backline setups though so I’m not sure how they will look in a 4 man back.

Richards and CCV are probably the most likely to do that.

Let's get this back on track.
Greggs system is garbage and has hit it's peak.

Why would they want a player who doesn’t sing the Seattle Sounders chant and doesn’t make his bed in the morning. THEY NEED WARRIORS

Holden and Gomez got into a spat on Instagram about that stat. Two 2010 World Cup vets arguing about a guy on the 2022 World Cup team who is the son of a (multiple) World Cup vet who is coached by that guy’s teammate who also played at the World Cup. We’ve made it boys. Or at least we are getting there.

What do your eyes tell you, Stu? When Gio was on the pitch, everything in the attacking third was better.

Haven’t commented this thread but will now.
WC is once every 4 years. It takes everything you have to go far. Gregg is a poor leader. Regardless what happened its your job to make it work. It was bubbling prior to any WC games and Gregg failed. We paid him to win the World Cup. Thats it, thats his job. Once there its too late to fix what shoulda been fixed before team selections.
Thats the bottom line. Phil Jackson won titles with Dennis fricking Rodman!! Gio is not even close to the problems Rodman was. Phil played Rodman. Phil won titles. Smart man. Gregg bad leader
Hell, I bet Phil coulda got us at least as far as Gregg and he knows nothing about soccer. He does know how to deal with players though. Next coach has to be that person. We need to get the ole US Hockey coach back, who beat Russia in one of the boggest upsets in sports history. Another good leader of men.

the big story here is that one of the best players in the pool was available but didn’t feature in the World Cup, because he and the manager were at odds.
Um....
Seems like he and the team were also at odds.
Gio acted like a brat, and got treated like he was being a brat.
His childish behavior wasn't being rewarded, which is how it should be.
Hopefully he learns that acting this way gets him nowhere and he matures from this.
Failing to see how Gregg is the a-hole here.

Rodman was a great team player.
Gio apparently isn't.
That's the difference.

Greggs System:
Pass maps for EPL teams in 19/20(cant find more recent):
Pass maps for Serie A teams 19/20:
There's one glaring issue with Greggs system. So instead of trying to fix it with the best attacker in concacaf, he decides(before the world cup), to bench said player.
