I said the exact same thing before SA. I've lost hope in it. He'll be on this team until he's in a walker.

75 year old Bornstein starting at LB. Just watch.

Don't be surprised if he doesn't start at least one match in the GC.

My perception is that he absolutely ruins at least 2 or 3 good chances per start. Am I wrong?

just got back. it was cold, wet, windy... and I had a hell of a good time!

I'm sick of having to beat the other team and the goddamn referee. Maybe it was my vantage point, but it sure seemed to me like #21 for Paraguay was a dirty motherfricker.

But yeah, the youngsters looked pretty good tonight I thought. I just wish we knew how to put the ball in the back of the damn net with authority.

I agree. Marcus did nothing to stop that shot. He should have made himself bigger. We had the better chances, props to the Paraguayan keeper. Great save on Bradley's strike. Chandler is the real deal and Landy Cakes missed a sitter.

I only got to see the second half but we were taking it to them, and had them sitting back in a shell(granted they were very organized and disciplined). We gave the ball away lots of times in very poor situations deep in our own end. Was all the above the same for the first half?

Howard wouldn't have been able to do anything about their goal. If you can't defend a set piece your gonna be in trouble, its as simple as that. The marking on that corner was very poor and Cardozo is a poacher.

By the way, just wanted to say that I was very pleased with the game. We might have lost, but I thought we looked very good against quality opposition and were very unlucky to lose.

Only watched the first half in bits and pieces but managed to record it. Either way, I'm less worried about the result and more concerned with the quality on the pitch. These games are about preparation, not outcome.

I agree. We shouln't give up a set piece goal to a smaller squad ever. It just looked to me that Marcus could have made himself bigger.

I take more positives than negatives from the match though. Chandler is the real deal. And Lichaj looked really good as well.

Just back from the match.

My initial thoughts:

Bradley and Chandler played really well. #13 for Paraguay needs to go DIAF. The linesman needs his eyes checked. Ream needs to never see a USMNT jersey again. Someone other than Landy needs to try the corners. Yelldell is not ready for primetime.

ETA: And to the old lady who told me to sit down:

Juan Agudelo played really well, Timothy Chandler made good runs forward. John Bornstein needs to stay in Mexico next time.

We moved off the ball extremely well in the last 20 minutes this game, that was good to see. Agudelo and Dempsey looked good together.

From my vantage point, he was the worst player on the pitch. My entire section seemed to come to the same conclusion.

Not even close IMO. He wasn't perfect but he was composed on the ball and aside from a couple of mistakes and getting pulled down in the box for their goal, I thought he played well.

frick that. From my seat Ream and Chandler were probably the best ones on the pitch the entire game.
