It still baffles me how he's our only true LB (besides Heath Pearce who wasn't called up).

At this point you've really gotta keep an eye on Pearce and Zach Loyd at FC Dallas.

That's one reason.

First, we have better players than Paraguay; however, we have yet to finish a play. The defense has played well, but we are not making anything work on their end of the field. They are out hustling the US to every free ball, and are flying around the field. We have to play a more aggressive style, which Bradley just does not know how to coach.

This is the game I saw too.

The new guys were promising, but this team can't win the Gold Cup playing like this. If we play like that against Mexico, it will be another 5-0 blowout.

They're being so fricking negative on the post game show. WTF? I thought we had so many positives to take from this game. Especially without Howard between the posts

Are they talking about how bad Landon and Clint were?
It's time for Deuce to stop acting like such a bitch.

Yes they can.

The Gold Cup was Chicarito and Carlos Vela against Robbie Rogers and Kyle Beckerman. We were tied until the 70th minute. They brought a much stronger squad to the tournament. Mexico isn't better than us, and if they are it's by very very little.

Haven't mentioned anything about either. I thought both played pretty well though. Maybe I missed something.

I'll give them the edge due to Chicarito.

Landon did. I wasn't really impressed with Clint today.

They are probably about even with us right now, but I'd say Bornstein is the unequalizer.

nah, mexico lives and dies by their sword. we showed against argentina that we could absorb a shitton of pressure and limit really, really good chances in front of goal. mexico will always push up entirely too far, and mexico will always bend over for landon to slip around the back.

hernandez is going to make or break mexico. he is potentially the cutting edge in front of goal that they need. if they can consistently give him good looks in front of goal, it's not just going to be us that will have to worry about them.

He held the ball pretty well in traffic. His finishing was pretty awful though.

Bornstein isn't a starter.

That's the thing. I like Clint, but you can't take that many shots and not hit a damn thing. What's he doing differently in England?

Bornstein shouldn't even get the call up.

That's true I guess. If there's a pet peeve I have its people not getting their knee over the ball. And he was the king of it tonight.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bornstein doesn't get the Gold Cup callup.
