The correct decision would to be turn the other way and clear it if need be or play to a teammate if space allows. Even if you're not sure who is there, it's probably safer than trying to clear it across the goal mouth. The odds of banking it in off one of your own players in that situation is pretty high.

I think that just about anything is safer than driving the shite out of the ball back across your own goal. I was explaining his decision. It obviously wasn't the correct one.
What makes it worse is that they were playing with 10 and down a goal away from home during the first leg of a two-legged tie.

Off topic here, but the few times I've seen a Barca game lately, that dude has been everywhere. Big time skill and speed. It takes a lot to stand out noticeably from all that talent on the field around him. He caught a lot of shite from the fans and stuff over there the past couple of years. If I had a nickel for every time I thought this.

It's really not that simple. The more powerful your shot, the harder it becomes and the more you have to get over it. Which is why it's frustrating to see people who don't even have the ability to hit it with any sort of power say this type of thing (not saying that's you). It's just physics.
