Totally forgot about this inconsequential, bitch arse Judas piece of shite.
How is he Judas? The dude is ethnic Italian. He is an Italian more than American, the fact he was born here means nothing. Ethnicity trumps nationality every-time. International soccer needs to be based ethnicity anyway. With the U.S, Canada, and Australia being the only exception, due to the fact they have no true identity and are made up countries. The German team should be composed of real Germans, Italian team of real Italians, and so forth. Not guys like Mario Balotelli, Mesut Ozil, foreigners who are granted citizenship because of their talent. Rossi did the right thing in choosing the better team. However, he should have known he wasn't on the talent level of the Italian team.

Rossi had some great moments at Villarreal
Yeah, he was certainly very good there. Those were some of the most enjoyable teams in recent memory -- under both Pellegrini and then Garrido -- Rossi, Cazorla, Valero, Nilmar, Senna. . . Diego Lopez and some quality young defenders as well though those seasons.
His last Villarreal season and then after returning from his first bad injury with Fiorentina, his play making ability was really improving in leaps and bounds from what was already pretty damn good. . . that first half season with Fiorentina before the second injury was absolutely stunning. . .

You're whole argument is fricking insane, but this part isn't true. Ozil is a third generation German, and Balotelli was born in Palermo.

Both of these players were citizens of their respective countries due to their parents' or grandparents immigration not due to football, much like Joe DiMaggio, Jack Dempsey or Sandy Koufax.
European countries have immigrants just like the USA, Australia etc and there's no reason to say black people can't be Italian citizens anymore than saying they can't be citizens of England and eligible for their NT.
I agree with you about letting players like Rossi, Ozil, Balotelli or Aron Johannsson choose. They should just be able to choose either way if they have dual citizenship.

Not when he said he is basically American as apple pie.

Meh... he also was the child of actual Italians who moved here for work and then he and his father moved back to Italy when he was 12 years old.
He spent a lot more time in Italy than a few of the best players on the USMNT ever spent in the USA.

While all that is true, what I think annoyed people was when Rossi said he felt American off the field but Italian on it. He also says he wants to come "home" and play in MLS. No one begrudges Subotic because Subotic doesn't talk about America being home. If Rossi just chose Italy and didn't talk about it so much, he'd be ignored just as Subotic is.
