I'll admit that I was/am still pissed he chose a foreign country over his own. At the time it seemed like all the peices were coming together for the US. I never wish any player harm or injury (besides Marquez and de Jong), but it does make me a little bit happier whenever I see him left out of the Italian side. Eta: looking back at its unfair, because the wreck is what really started the slump, but he is still a very good talent, and it would have been nice to have a quality striker play with/over Altisore for all those years.

He has had some great seasons in Spain and Italy. He has been injured at really inopportune times, but he is by no means a flop. He would have been a great, great player on the USMNT.
